  1. Visual differences between T-90A and T-90K. T-90K - Commander version Cast turret (T-90) with 2 antennas + new tracks and more powerful V-92S2 engine (T-90A) = T-90K Only two such tanks were produced. (false information) Visually, the T-90K can be recognized by two antennas, as it has additional means of communication (the R-163-50K radioset) and navigation equipment (the TNA-4-3). It differs from T-90 with its new tracks and more powerful V-92S2 engine from T-90A. It differs from T-90A with its cast turret. T-90K for the first time was presented at the Moscow exhibition of arms of land forces in 2008. And since then it disappeared from view. About 6 months ago this tank was spotted in Syria in hands of the Syrian Arab Army.

  2. Guide "How to tell the difference between T-90 and T-90A". These are the most visible differences between T-90 and T-90A. I made this guide because I haven't seen any on this topic and majority of people don't even know there are these two variants (there are more) or don't know what is different between them, so I wanted to enlighten people. This guide is not 100% true because there are some "hybrid" T-90 which incorporate parts from both models, for example T-90A chassis (body, new tracks and engine) with T-90 cast turret = T-90K http://live.warthunder.com/post/599752/en/ I didn't incorporated export(T-90S) models because they can be distinguished very easily by the complete lack of Shtora-1 EOCMDAS or by the missing MTShU-1-7 modulator such as T-90SA for Algeria, Armenia and Azerbaijan. I am open to any suggestion or to constructive criticism. I hope this will help.

    Current Reads Thread

I'm almost done with "Life at the Bottom" by Theodore Dalrymple. It is an incredibly depressing series of stories from a London doctor describing what creates chavs, and what keeps them stuck in chavdom. This book will make you hate both chavs and the intelligentsia that promote their existence.

  5. Only 2 possbile variants - BMPT and "BMPT-72". I guess second one is cheaper and it is possible to be one that MoD will get.

  6. @RobotMinisterofTrueKorea found this collection of illustrations from men's magazines, including several I had not seen before. I think this one is the most transcendently glorious: "Hot lead umbrella?" Is he going to... shoot over their heads and shade them? Maybe it's hard to think of snappy lines when you're concentrating on surfing with a machine gun. It's a goddamn shame that this was never made into a movie. We're set to get Marvel's Walrus Avenger II: When Star Wars Attacks and sequels or whatever out 'til the mid 2040s, but we can't have Surf Pack Assassins? What sort of a world is this?

  7. No optics installed, Shtora jammers and laser sensors not mounted, no ERA blocks mounted anywhere suggests that this is a turret used for testing. UPD - claimed to be a photo from Crimea, Opuk testing grounds.

15minutes later, the forum inexplicably burns down in flames as Sturgeon tries to do Admin stuff unsuccessfully. Again.

  11. Speaking of Allison Transmission, they must have had some sort of corporate policy to try to keep their engineers from ever getting laid. I mean, how else do you explain this promotional item from Allison that recently came into my possession? Imagine some poor Allison engineer sitting in a bar. A woman comes up to him and asks for a light. He reaches into his pocket to fish out what looks like a normal pack of matches. He then proceeds to open the match book, only to reveal that it is not matches at all, but actually a tiny pocket calculator. At this point the woman rolls her eyes and walks away while the poor engineer rather hopelessly tells her he can calculate some sums for her.

    General news thread

I saw a quote from a neighbor that "he was quiet and kept mostly to himself". Which is pretty much the cliche.

  14. All I can offer is that "the M-18 is "easy" to drive for ww2 era armor". (And I've driven "a few" examples of armor of the era.) It's still terrifying at at speed. As in "Bring a change of skivvies,and/or another pair of trousers".
