I wonder if the offset first warhead might not help when hitting the edge between two ERA tiles: it might only defeat an ERA tiles that is not in the path of the main warhead...

If the precursor charge is really that offset from the central axis of the missile, it's probably tilted inwards.

Military History Visualized has a decent bit about the Panzerfaust that just went up.

It is always interesting in something like World War 2 just how much ammo needed to be expended to get any kills.

I question the commercial viability of this, although the carbon fiber version might catch some interest due to its weight.

Well, it's an interesting idea. In my opinion, the concept of a 1,000-1,500m explosive "projector" has some legs, it's certainly a much better idea than the "hey what if we did the boer war again lol" GPC crowd. So maybe this idea as a stepping stone for a more universal explosive projector for the infantry that can act as an anti-armor, anti-personnel, and anti-structure weapon. Sort of a combined Pike/Javelin/SMAW/AT4/MAAWS kind of thing. That might have legs.

@Mighty_Zuk: this "little" baby would've been an even niftier toy, sheer size and lack of high maneuvrability put aside.

The space opera SFX would bring a smile to the gunner every time...

 

How would it fare against NERA, compared to a regular APFSDS? (let's say a DM-53 or M829A2)

It would probably not fare well against tanks even at its maximum range where it is supposed to have the highest level of penetration, unless it can side shot. But it's probably really cheap compared to existing HEAT based ATGMs, which is something. 

Problem is, it's not dual purpose, which could definitely be the reason it was cancelled. Realistically, while ATGMs have very clearly the "Anti Tank" in their name, their by far most prolific use is against soft targets.

 

So yeah, just a waste of money here. Great for gaming purposes though.

Oh, LOSAT still seemed to have some antistructural capabilities according to the video, but you'd constantly have to worry about collateral damage when in a cluttered environment. The other issue is that the missile is designed from the get-go to be a hard sprinter and not a loiterer, so it cannot regulate its speed and perform tricks like top attacks (which would reduce risk of CD) or even last-minute adjustment/aborts. It's literally made for battlefields like the Fulda Gap and not urban territories.
