Came across a M2 HST, or at least most of one.. The guy wanted more than I could afford, but he'll get what he's asking, eventually.

 

That's one of the vehicles on my "Bucket List". As in "restore and drive in a few parades", if not "Take to a few airshows".

 

Vintage AGE is sadly under-represented in the MV community.

It's a DAF V1600 truck mated with the tracks from an M3 halftrack, installed in reverse. Vehicle was a test vehicle for a military airport to act as some sort of wrecker truck. The thing in the back is a crane.

 

Edit: According to the museum it was used for bomb disposal.

EOD/ordinance. That strongly resembles a standard WW2 era U.S. bomb crane.
