Post Election Thread: Democracy Dies In Darkness And You Can Help

Call off World War 3 people. Looks like Vlad Putin is backing away from the precipice and lowering the gun from his temple and is no longer willing to commit national suicide since he'll be talking with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson after all.

Frankly, the behavior of the Russians over the last week has been a lot of blustering and gesticulating in order to try to save face after getting their hands caught in the chemical weapons cookie jar. Since it is obvious the Administration is more concerned about defeating ISIS than regime change with Assad, my guess is that the two sides will be able to smooth out their difficulties and come to an understanding in the Middle East. Especially when it has been shown that a new sheriff is in town and Russia can't treat the United States like Obama or Clinton are in office.

You should probably summarize what's good about that video, because nobody's gonna wade through 20 minutes of Sargon of Cuckkad to get to it.

I watched the whole thing just to spite you.

It's pretty much sargon talking about The Battle of Berkley for 20min, accompanied with the relevant footage.

Alright, here goes:

1. Pro-Trump supporters hold a rally

2. Communists start a counter-protest, calling pro-Trumpers "Nazis"

3. "Nazis" kick the shit out of Communists, despite Communist usage of fireworks and smoke bombs

I do think it's funny that the Communists will call ANYONE who is right-wing a Nazi, just to rally support against them

Also, one of the Communist "fighters" was a 5'1,

98 lb pornstar who thought shed be somehow good in a fight.

Yeah, it was fun to watch Anti Fascist fascists get their asses kicked, and by a motley crew of strangle and wacky.

This makes me think that a decent rugby team could revolutionise the protesting game in the US. Because so far it looks like a battle between the weak and the feeble ;)

I'm also still plugging for the use of shield walls and pike blocks.

Four words for you; South Korean riot police:

For reasons I'm not entirely clear on, South Korean protests routinely turn into violent, medieval-looking line battles:

Frankly, they make most of the US civil disturbances look pretty lame.

Why this is such a regular occurrence in an industrialized country with a high standard of living and very low levels of crime otherwise is somewhat mystifying to me.

I know all about both them and the lameness of your county's civil disturbances :)

I'm trying to resolve the latter by suggesting the use of what amounts to well-desciplinned mercenaries (a rugby team) to man the front line, and plan to counter the former using pikes.

I feel that, if someone is willing to make my dreams a reality, truly entertaining YouTube videos are sure to follow.

Didn't South Korea have a dictatorship as late as the 80s? They've probably got a real sense of dread for their civil liberties over there being one of the international chess pieces used in the cold war and sitting on the door step of a authoritarian nightmare.

Anyway, I unfortunately think that this is probably the closest we'll get to seeing a real life example of how at least early organized armies fought off barbarian hordes.

Their formation is so loose, they are vulnerable to cavalry. Where are their pikes? Where are the archers? Terrible, just terrible.

Unsophisticated barbarians only warrant so much complexity in the face of hard drilled discipline.
