Donward
The day may come in the not too distant future when humanity will become enslaved by their new robot overlords. But it isn't today! Jeeps_Guns_Tanks and LoooSeR

Donward
For every lazy, drunken robot falling on his ass for the amusement of nerds, there are a dozen hard-working robots just trying to make a living. Massive, speedy robots ready to build wings for Boeing 777X Robotic heads zipped along at great speed, whirling and repositioning at the end of each run, as their business end — which glowed like a line of fire — laid down thin strips of carbon fiber infused with epoxy resin. The manufacturing machines giving this dazzling performance, designed and built by Mukilteo-based Electroimpact, will be used to fabricate the giant composite wings of Boeing’s next jet, the 777X. Think of these machines as 30-foot-tall, 3-D printers, each costing tens of millions of dollars. And if you guys ever have a chance to head to Everett Washington, do a tour of the Boeing Plant, do it. The place is HUGE! There's also a good airplane museum located nearby filled with all of Paul Allen's warbirds.

xthetenth
Just a matter of time until capitalism embraces a fully robotic workforce which then morphs into luxury communism. Can't wait (lol @ the notion of actual equal distribution, it'll just be rent seeking all the way down). Serious though, it'll be interesting to see what shifts happen in the eternal fight between really really poor people that work for cheap and robots that cost a lot up front but work for slightly cheaper. LoooSeR
Now there is a chance for you, capitalists, to see a lot of drunken robots driving army trucks. Army marches forward with self-driving trucks Convoys to hit the highway this summer in Michigan. While Uber and other ride-sharing services are evaluating self-driving cars, the biggest user of autonomous-vehicle fleets may turn out to be the U.S. Army. The Army, which has hundreds of thousands of vehicles, has been testing convoys of driverless vehicles that follow a truck driven by a human. Initial tests involved as many as 10 vehicles equipped with cameras, radar and onboard computers to identify potential road hazards. The Army wants to learn whether such convoys can ease the workload of its drivers -- a major priority during wartime, when equipment is transported around the clock. (...) LoooSeR
Microsoft deletes 'teen girl' AI after it became a Hitler-loving sex robot within 24 hours A day after Microsoft introduced an innocent Artificial Intelligence chat robot to Twitter it has had to delete it after it transformed into an evil Hitler-loving, incestual sex-promoting, 'Bush did 9/11'-proclaiming robot. Developers at Microsoft created 'Tay', an AI modelled to speak 'like a teen girl', in order to improve the customer service on their voice recognition software. They marketed her as 'The AI with zero chill' - and that she certainly is. (...) Lord_James

LoooSeR
Military drones/robots from around the world: USA 1. Crusher (mid-late 2000s) 6.5 tons, 6 wheeled military UGV for combat and non-combat use. Can be armed with range of weapons up to 20 mm AC or move cargo of total weight of about 3.5 tons, recon version also was developed with special mast with cameras, laser rangefinder, etc. Can move without human input (for this reaons have laser sensors to "scan" terrain), or can be operated remotely. Each wheel had electric motor inside of it to propell this rather big UGV, max speed of around 40-45 km/h. 2. APD - Autonomous Platform Demonstrator Futher developemnt of ideas, tested in Crusher. Better engine/electric motors systems allowed for higher max speed - 80 km/h. 3. Mini-Crusher More or less scout UGV, small-sized vehicle to detect IEDs and mines. Weight - about 57kg. 4. Gladiator. (mid 2000s) Was developed as part of TUGV programm, under DARPA. 3 variants are in the picture, with 3rd being wheeled version. 5. TALON (late 1990s, early 2000s) UGV with max operation range from operator of up to 1km. Main use - IED, mines, anti-terrorism operations. 6. SWORDS (Special Weapons Observation Reconnaissance Detection Systems, mid-late 2000s) Futher developemnt of TALOS, was designed to be part of infantry units and fight together with them as firesupport and recon drones. 90kg robot could use infantry weapons like MGs, M-16s, 50 cal rifles, disposable rocket launchers, 40mm grenade launchers. Battaries allowed for 4.5 hours active working time or up to 7 days in stand-by mode. Vehicle was operated from 13kg station. Instead of weapons SWORDS could have been equiped with different loadouts - less lethal weapons, small crane/manipulator, load speekers. 3 of those were deployed to Iraq in 2007 for testing, were found to be not very suit for the job. 7. MAARS (Modular Advanced Armed Robotic System, late 2000s) Similar to SWORDS, this 158 kg UGV had improved software, allowing operator to designate via GPS zones where robot can use weapons, and where he can't, also software allowed to rotate turret/weapon away from friendly forces positions and operator position. Max speed of this vehicle - increased to incredible 12 km/h from SWORDS. Electric batteries allowed it to actively work for 3-12 hours (depend on type of operation, equipment and mission), 8. Dragon Runner 10, (mid 2000s) This is rather small and light UGV (5-6 kg) is not very interesting, but it is pretty widely used since 2007 as scout drone. 9. UGV for engineering job Spartacus Minotaur Raider I Engineer Raider II Acer 10. SMSS (Squad Mission Support System, early 2010s) 1.8 tons wheeled UGV to haul your lazy ass or your shit in it. Can transport a cargo of 450 kg, with 40 max speed offroad. Several versions of this UGV were developed, armed version can use weapons up to Javelin ATGM. 11. Protector Firesupport drone, think of SWORDS by with newer equipment. 12. RS1 A 635 kg UGV for police and military use. Armed versions are called RS1 Gremlin 13. CAMEL (Carry-all Mechanized Equipment Landrover, 2010) Yet another robot to carry your equipemnt for you. Or your weapon. 14. BigDog Already was posted here several times 15. LS3 (Legged Squad Support System), yet another equipment carrier, videos were posted earlier 16. RHex 17. Sandflea Robot that can jump (up to 8 meters!), 5 kg, pretty small.
