German military training in WW2

We're all familiar with the nonsense that gets spewed about the extreme capability of German infantry units in WW2, but does anyone have any good information or sources on training regimens?

I don't know about infantry, but as far as training for Panzer units, Richard DiNardo's "Germany's Panzer Arm in WWII" has a good chapter on training.  It's available in one of those green soft cover Stackpole military history series volumes.
