After feedback, it might be best to differentiate between different types of "special armor" regions. I am very certain the turret bustle special armor (orange) is not the same as the primary special armor (red) or the side front hull special/spaced (?) armor (green):

Here is the turret of the model from another angle: The front turret is of the series 1 tanks. This changed in series 2 and again with series XXI. Darklabor made these a while ago to illustrate the changes: The uneven line of sight thickness of the left front hull side flap have also concerned me. As you can see the right side flap has a more even distribution (mainly because of the fuel tanks). As you said these side "flaps" might just be spaced armor. The swedish tank trials mockup did not include them, which could mean that they are not special armor. As you have seen in a previous post my earlier rendition of this modules had a more regular LOS thickness because of me placing a tiny fuel tank in that location as well. But looking at the insert bays and what was pointed out in an earlier post i removed the (mini) fuel tank. It made little sense to have a 4L fuel tank in that location.' In the image below, the upper right center shows the straight line shadow of the side wall of the insert bay: Here is the "high res" image of the hull:

Without torsion bars, you can do plenty of things.

Here are some images and diagrams that show the elevation mechanishm. The main components are located underneat the main gun in front of the breech block. I tried to be as generic as possible without compromising the actual shape of the mechanism as much as possible. Froggy and DarkLabor helped quite a bit with images and some general information.

I can post screenshots of the article. And ESUT is a monthly magazine which has good connections into the industry and the Ministry. That why they have articles with 3/4th old facts and 1/4th of new information that you cant get anywhere else.

Another drip of information on upgrades and replacment for alot of Bundeswehr AFVs in the coming years. So the big thing first the Spz Marder is getting upgraded. Over 200 will be upgrade until 2025 with a new Thermal Imager for the Gunner, new night vision cameras for the driver, a new more powerful powerpack, a battlemanagment system and the same tracks as the Puma and off course Spike instead of MILAN. TSWA is still happening for Spz Puma with lethal and non lethal CS and Flashbang rounds (?) Wiesel is first getting upgraded with Spikes and then replaced by 2025 with a new "Airdeployable Heavy Weapon Carrier". A Mungo replacment is being looked into. Jägerbataillons are getting heavy Weapon Carriers so probably Boxer with a turret. A new Airdeployable Patform with Mortar System is due in 2027 to replace M113 and Lkw Wolf with the 120mm Mortar, so the Wiesel 2 with a Mortar probably. Boxer will receive an APS but no word on hard or soft kill.

After a little bit research İn 2020 15 tanks will be produced and in 2021 another 25 After these 40 vehicles the new ones will get domestic engine/transmission The first batch of 250 will be delivered very quickly. Qatar has also ordered 100 Altay s. So planning/wishing looks good, but we have to wait for next year how realistic that will be. Complete 1000 are planned in 4 batches with each batch new version like a la Armata is planned.

Pre-serial production variant. Prototype: Noticeable differences: Lower (fog?) lights are protected. Storage boxes on the sides appear to be somewhat extended downwards, with the central one being significantly enlarged. UFP has a little bump in the middle. Rear sponsons were somewhat changed. Smoke grenade launchers were removed. New commander's cupola? Sides are now protruding outwards, due to the installation of the new armor modules. New tires and wheel design. Different headlights.
