  1. It’s looking more and more like the Dems are trying to recreate 1972 or 1984 with their election futility. As if it weren’t bad enough already, the 2020 Dem primaries are going to be a stampede to the Left.
  2. Old Man Yells at Cloud https://www.npr.org/2019/02/19/676923000/bernie-sanders-enters-2020-presidential-campaign-no-longer-an-underdog And decides to run for President again.
  3. I'd never heard about the guy before either. But ALL the American TV networks, newspapers, and media coverage have been giving this guy massive coverage for the past two weeks... and coverage that basically bought his story that two white guys were standing around in Chicago wearing #maga hats, during the height of the Polar Vortex, carrying a noose and bleach in order to go queer stomping. It was obvious this story was a fake from the outset. And truthfully, most "hate crimes" being committed these days and given coverage, have been fakes too.
  4. No surprise to anyone with half a brain.
  5. In the wake of sanctions from the US and Europe, it looks like Venezuela is trying to hawk its oil to India who seems happy to continue doing business with the Maduro regime. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-india-oil-venezuela/venezuelas-pdvsa-seeks-to-barter-its-oil-with-india-idUSKCN1Q00XY
  6. Remember. This isn't a Reign of Terror. At Sturgeon's House, we allow the condemned a five minute smoke break while digging their own graves.
  7. So the Governor of California Gavin Newsom has ended the high speed rail boondoggle... at least in part. https://www.sfgate.com/news/article/central-valley-high-speed-rail-merced-bakersfield-13610732.php And is in the process, outright stealing $3.5 billion dollars in federal funding. “Abandoning high-speed rail entirely means we will have wasted billions of dollars with nothing but broken promises and lawsuits to show for it,” Newsom said. “And by the way, I am not interested in sending $3.5 billion in federal funding that was allocated to this project back to Donald Trump.” $3.5 billion dollars you say, hmmm??? I wonder what infrastructure project THAT could be used for?
  8. And meanwhile Cory "Spartacus" Booker is coming out as against meat for his Presidential run https://vegnews.com/2019/2/cory-booker-on-animal-rights-veganism-and-how-to-change-the-world This ought to be a winning electoral issue...
  9. And meanwhile in Seattle's Snowpocalypse... https://www.thenewstribune.com/news/state/washington/article226125595.html A woman was arrested in Seattle on Sunday night after video caught her driving into a group of people having a snowball fight, according to police. Police performed a field sobriety test on the woman and discovered she was under the influence of marijuana, KIRO reports. Wieser’s video shows that after the woman drove toward the crowd, she got out of her car — not at all dressed for the weather — and ran toward people outside. She was apparently angry that a snowball had been tossed into her vehicle.
  10. It is already a freakshow of epic scale and scope. And the ensemble cast keeps getting larger.
  11. It snowed on Hawaii. https://www.sfgate.com/weather/article/Hawaii-recorded-what-may-be-the-lowest-elevation-13607099.php On Sunday, Maui's 10,000-foot Haleakala received a thick dusting and snow also accumulated at 6,200 feet in Polipoli State Recreation Area. Officials at the Department of Land and Natural Resources say this could mark the lowest-elevation snowfall ever recorded in the state.
  12. Watching and reading the captions, the amazing thing is that I can't tell if this float is meant to be negative or positive towards the President so I'm going to assume the latter.
  13. I see Mahk is taking a swipe at Gillette!
  14. So here is the Green New Deal document being peddled by AOC and the lot. https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/5729035/Green-New-Deal-FAQ.pdf It... truly is special the wishful thinking involved. How will you pay for it? The same way we paid for the New Deal, the 2008 bank bailout and extended quantitative easing programs. The same way we paid for World War II and all our current wars. The Federal Reserve can extend credit to power these projects and investments and new public banks can be created to extend credit. There is also space for the government to take an equity stake in projects to get a return on investment. At the end of the day, this is an investment in our economy that should grow our wealth as a nation, so the question isn’t how will we pay for it, but what will we do with our new shared prosperity.
  15. It looks like they have tracked down "Patient Zero" for the measles outbreak in Washington State. https://komonews.com/news/local/patient-zero-identified-in-measles-outbreak?fbclid=IwAR3al2VnhEPI3F2OYuztjSQRDnH7WaUOcxpU4-_1pDW_2X9saOo491Fce_Y State health officials say the first person to contract measles in the latest outbreak was someone from outside the country. That person, according to State Epidemiologist Dr. Scott Lindquist, came into contact with a large group of un-vaccinated children. "All those kids that were un-immunized went to public places like Ikea, Costco and a Portland Trailblazers game," he said. ... Editorializing here, but generally the sort of people who are gung-ho about not vaccinating their kids are also the ones totally OK with opening the borders to whoever wants to come across. Given the voting habits of Clark County, I feel my hypothesis is fairly accurate.
  16. Welp, there goes my Presidential ticket of Zombie Ronald Reagan/ Zombie Richard Nixon in 2024....
  17. Well, I made my caveats about the polling’s accuracy via the President. The interesting number is Schultz who is in double digits and the implication that represents considering conventional wisdom has him syphoning away lean Democrat voters. Granted, he’ll pick up some #NeverTrump RINOs but I don’t think that many are around anymore. I think 17 percent is a believable number. As it stands, I think 2020 with a strong Schultz 3rd Party run will result in 1992 type numbers but with the incumbent winning.
  18. The 2020 Panic from the Democratic Party is in full swing. I'd say this is a legit, thumbnail sketch of the race, although polling seems wildly optimistic for Warren/Harris and under represents the incumbent President.
  19. I'm kind of glad this little thread got resurrected for at least a little bit, if only as a reminder how superior most of the American (and much of the Allied) equipment was compared to their Axis adversaries. And even if there is a debate over whether a weapon was "overrated" it wasn't necessarily bad, and was certainly better in most cases than contemporary Axis equipment, assuming the Axis even had anything that was contemporary to it to begin with.
  20. It really does perplex me about the Left's whining about the Electoral College. Do Democrats not know what an enormous advantage it is having California and New York locked up as a safe state at the get go? That is almost 1/3 of the votes necessary to win right there. Every election, the Republican Presidential candidate is basically forced to run the table in terms of picking up every swing state out there, and said candidate has to run on a platform that appeals to the wildly different voting groups in those said states. Which is why Trump, and none of the other 15 GOP candidates in 2016, was the ONLY one capable of defeating Hillary because he had the chops to be able to go into not only Florida and Ohio but Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, michigan and win. Again this wouldn't be an issue if maybe if Democrats didn't pick terrible human beings like Algore in 2000 who lost his home state of Tennessee because of gun control or an even worse human being like Hillary Clinton in 2016 who didn't even bother to run a campaign, had to cheat to win her primary and who is loathed by her own party because of it, and has worse popularity numbers -as we speak - than the President, who is supposedly so embattled. But with the way things are going so far in 2020, I don't see the Democrats actually taking that advice, which is why the Party is collectively squealing in terror over the fact that Howard "Sonics to OKC" Schultz is running as a filthy Centrist who thinks that America is OK and we should all come together as a country! What nerve!
