  1. And meanwhile his ilk are trying to overthrow our government and nullify the results of a lawful US election and the will of the American public.

The Atlantic covers John Correia and does so in an almost sympathetic light. https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2018/09/john-correia-self-defense/565739/

    United States Gun Control Megathread

Hey! The NRA was actually useful for once (this time working with the 2nd Amendment Foundation) http://mynorthwest.com/1083992/nra-lawsuit-win-i-1639/ The the judgement has removed an initiative from the ballot here in Washington state which would have increased the age to buy semiauto rifles to 21, required further background checks, and would have punished gun owners if their firearm was used in a crime after not being “safely stored”. I-1639 was problematic across a whole line of issues, including violating the State Constitution and prohibitions against multiple subjects in an initiative. But what got it thrown out was shady initiative signature gathering practices.
  5. This entire “Russian Collusion” narrative began when candidate Trump made a joke about the Russians finding Hillary’s mysteriously missing emails from her illegal server. It was a joke told millions of times across the country before Trump issued the one-liner. But since Hillary was the butt of the joke, of course the Obama Administrations intel team had to use the full scope of the federal government to get to the heart of the matter.
  6. ? The President is exercising his exevutive powers as outlined by Article 2 of the Constitution. In fact the President would be derelict in his duty allowing these unelected bureaucrats to continue to hold - and profit - from their security clearances given the political environment where there is an open plot to overturn a legal US election and to thwart the will of the American public.
  7. Last time I checked, Americans elected a President to fix what has been “common practice for decades” in D.C. and the federal government.
  8. Exactly. Which leaves only two logical choices as to what is governing their behavior. Either they are incompetent lacking the emotional intelligence to be able to recognize an obvious joke. In which case we don’t want them anywhere in the chain of command interpreting gathered intel which is all about gauging human emotions. Or else they are deliberately misleading the American public by feigning outrage over a joke. Incompetence or malevolence. Or both. Those are the only choices.
  9. Sure. And it would be nice if we had a "free" press that was interested in the US Constitution and the sovereignty of the United States. https://www.businessinsider.com/these-6-corporations-control-90-of-the-media-in-america-2012-6 Edit: These 15 Billionaires own America's News media https://www.forbes.com/sites/katevinton/2016/06/01/these-15-billionaires-own-americas-news-media-companies/#18f1a1c6660a
  10. The story I linked was an Associated Press story regarding his job at the University of Texas. If I'm supposed to just blandly accept that "Hero UBL Killin' Admiral" is upset that Trump is exercising his constitutionally mandated powers as chief executive, I'm going to darn well look up "Hero UBL Killin' Admiral's" record at his day job. Which is unimpressive at first glance.

  12. The architect of the bin Laden raid is struggling in his new job: Running the University of Texas https://www.businessinsider.com/ap-military-hero-mcraven-having-trouble-as-texas-chancellor-2017-6 McRaven wasted no time diving into politically charged issues such as concealed handguns on campus (he was against) and keeping a state law that allows immigrants in the country illegally to pay cheaper, in-state tuition (he was in favor). But McRaven's troubles began when he sidestepped the governor and the Legislature to move forward with a bold plan to build a data center in Houston. To some, it seemed a natural fit for a large university system to have a presence in the nation's fourth-largest city. But it was also seen as a territorial invasion launched without informing legislators and a threat to the University of Houston, which is striving to become a major research institution. Tensions over the Houston move bubbled for more than a year, and lawmakers pounced during a January budget hearing when John Whitmire, a Houston Democrat, told McRaven in a testy exchange, "I don't think you give a damn what the Legislature thinks." ... So he's anti-gun, pro-illegal immigrant, and he's thwarting elected authority in Texas. Yeah. This is my shocked face that he is anti-Trump.
  13. [Collimatrix here, I'm splitting this off and doing something I should have done a long time ago, which is have a thread dedicated to terror attacks and active shooters. News updates, professional analysis, that sort of thing. I know that these events are always very emotional and shocking, but let's try to keep it reasonable and level-headed. AEarly reports are usually godawful wrong. The whole truth may not come out for months. Anyone who tries to make a political point before the blood has congealed is a jackass.] So apparently there was a mass shooting in Las Vegas on the strip that just happened. We'll have to wait until useful information begins to trickle in and for 24-48 hours to go by before the false reports get corrected. Edit: The shaky mobile phone cam footage "sounds" kind of like automatic weapons fire. That is just a wild guess on my part. See second line.
  14. Paul Manafort’s defense team has rested its case without calling any witnesses nor will Manafort testify. https://apnews.com/fc57a0d3b8b44213818471f5a5f84ef4/Manafort's-defense-rests-after-calling-no-witnesses My guess is that the prosecutor’s case led by Robert Mueller was so bungled and incompetent that there was no need. The narrative of this trial is that Mueller is going after Manafort on tax evasion solely to get the former short-term Trump campaign manager to flip on his former boss regarding so-called Russian Collusion. Prediction, if Mueller doesn’t secure a guilty verdict in this case, Trump will order the Special Prosecutor to be fired.
  15. But... but I thought Jesus was a Socialist! *tosses burning rag into the dumpster, runs away laughing maniacally*
  16. If these basement-dwelling “white nationalists” didn’t exist, the Left and the media would invent them. ... Wait a second...
  17. Also who needs to spend billions to win an election when it has been shown that $100,000 in Facebook ads and an office building full of Slavs squatting behind a computer screen with troll accounts can hack an entire election.
  18. Which makes 2016 such a watershed moment in that Trump won by being a B-list celebrity who had the savvy to actually run on a platform that the party base has been advocating, using only Twitter and rallies paid for by #MAGA hats. He made completely redundant and obsolete the school of political remoras and sea lice which attach themselves to the fundraising leviathon that is a Presidential campaign, hoping to bring in six and seven figures for doing polling or focus groups or selling their donor lists.
  19. In the interest of bi-partisanship, here's some red-meat for the Democrats/Socialists. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just strapped on her dildo and verbally ass-raped Ben Shapiro on Twitter today. Apparently Pajama Boy Shapiro and his minions at DailyWire have been trolling Ocasio-Cortez' social media accounts challenging her to a debate in exchange for $10,000 (donated to "charity"). Because it's not like Ocasio-Cortez is involved in a political campaign to get elected and actually has an opponent in the race to debate. But she has to debate Ben Shapiro for some reason who doesn't even live in her Congressional District and is from California. And in taking him down a peg, she has made Shapiro look like a cheap pervert. And now the gang at DailyWire is busy clutching their pearls and collapsing on their collective feinting couches because their fearless leader got beat up by a girl, claiming that Ocasio-Cortez has "slandered" Shapiro. https://www.dailywire.com/news/34321/twitter-explodes-after-ocasio-cortez-attacks-ryan-saavedra "Twitter exploded on Thursday after democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez slandered Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro in response to the debate offer he extended to her earlier in the week, leading many prominent accounts to slam the 28-year-old bartender turned politician." And it's stupid shit like this that annoys me with modern politics, where even the GOP intelligentsia tries to score political points by seeing who can get offended the hardest after their cheap political stunt fails. God Shapiro is such a pussy.
  20. Harvard gets about a half billion dollars in federal funding despite being a private university. https://247wallst.com/special-report/2017/03/22/universities-getting-the-most-money-from-the-federal-government/3/ This story was also linked by HuffPo.
  21. Calm down man. I'm mostly just cracking wise by running my "But muh Blue Wave" joke into the ground in the quest for good comedy. Of course the chick is just some random. On the other hand, if it was a "GOP" candidate, this would have made the news crawl on CNN. And there is a healthy bit of irony when it's a Democrat wielding a gun. ... (And to be fair, the New York Post covered it but mostly because of the tabloid aspect of it.)
