All reports on that are currently either complete BS or unverified to say the least.

Troop compartment of the Eitan. Quite spacious. Judging by the dirt marks, this prototype has been tested extensively.
Driver's touch-screen.
EDIT: New info - Eitan will supposedly enter initial service this year, instead of the envisioned 2020. It is however difficult to see how that can be done when not a single prototype was yet fitted with either the Trophy system, or the turret.

Mighty_Zuk got a reaction from alanch90 in Israeli AFVs
Welcome to Mighty Zuk's place of mental rest and peace of mind. This is my realm.
I've decided it would be best to ditch the old Merkava thread for 2 reasons:
1)It does not feature any bunched up information in its main post, and valuable information is scattered across different posts on different pages.
2)Many AFVs that are not related to the Merkava, or related but are not it, appear in that thread with improper representation. There are other AFVs than the Merkava, and it would be better to refer to them in a general way.
As time will go by, I will arrange this thread into a sort of information center.
I will take up a few first comment spaces to make sure proper amount of information can be stacked up on the front page and for easier access for everyone.
[Reserved for future posts - Merkava]

Which makes me wonder why did they delay its exhibition and delivery until now. Instead of sending refurbished T-62M and T-72AV they could have invested a little bit more money, then profit on the fame it will get.

They could always send Russian troops to man it, then instruct SAA soldiers on how to operate them. They do have their fair share of experienced, capable operators.

Mighty_Zuk reacted to MrMartin in How to tell the difference between T-90 and T-90A
Visual differences between T-90A and T-90K.
T-90K - Commander version
Cast turret (T-90) with 2 antennas + new tracks and more powerful V-92S2 engine (T-90A) = T-90K
Only two such tanks were produced. (false information)
Visually, the T-90K can be recognized by two antennas, as it has additional means of communication (the R-163-50K radioset) and navigation equipment (the TNA-4-3).
It differs from T-90 with its new tracks and more powerful V-92S2 engine from T-90A.
It differs from T-90A with its cast turret.
T-90K for the first time was presented at the Moscow exhibition of arms of land forces in 2008.
And since then it disappeared from view.
About 6 months ago this tank was spotted in Syria in hands of the Syrian Arab Army.

Mighty_Zuk reacted to MrMartin in How to tell the difference between T-90 and T-90A
Guide "How to tell the difference between T-90 and T-90A".
These are the most visible differences between T-90 and T-90A.
I made this guide because I haven't seen any on this topic and majority of people don't even know there are these two variants (there are more) or don't know what is different between them, so I wanted to enlighten people.
This guide is not 100% true because there are some "hybrid" T-90 which incorporate parts from both models, for example T-90A chassis (body, new tracks and engine)
with T-90 cast turret = T-90K http://live.warthunder.com/post/599752/en/
I didn't incorporated export(T-90S) models because they can be distinguished very easily by the complete lack of Shtora-1 EOCMDAS or by the missing MTShU-1-7 modulator such as T-90SA for Algeria, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
I am open to any suggestion or to constructive criticism.
I hope this will help.

Mighty_Zuk got a reaction from That_Baka in Fucking NERA everywhere
That's new info. Thanks.
I've been hearing about the effects of open hatches upon hits (primarily HEAT charges) but I've never quite understood the logic there. Always thought I've missed some parameter. Because either way, you're going to get your ears popped and a serious concussion.
This level of pressure shouldn't just be dangerous, but lethal in close proximity, as it's enough to have it applied to your neck and you're done for. But how consistent is that pressure across the tank and how effective are NBC systems against such sudden rise in overpressure?

Lewd picture of a Mark 3. You can see the naked turret side. I thought it was completely flat like the Mark 4 but I guess I was wrong.

First images of the Stunner 6th generation missile in its AAM version (evolved from SAM). In 2nd photo, the Stunner is on the right wing (left side from our perspective).
The range of the AAM is not yet known, but the specifications for the Stunner in its basic (SAM) variant are:
250km range.
Mach 7.5 (terminal stage?).
Hit-to-kill.
Dual seeker (Dual electro-optical and AESA).
