Was doing some investigation on the Browning 30-18 , and came across your article.
A quote from Val Browning states " "It was made by F.N. at the request of the French. It was an odd looking gun with a long magazine sticking out. I think it held 20 rounds of the french .32 long ammunition." It goes on to describe firing it, accuracy issues, etc.
This is found on Pg 104 of Medlin and Doane's work on the 35A and 35S handguns.
Also, there is some Remington/UMC made ammo floating about that was made for this little "BAR", labelled as both Browning Automatic Rifle Model 30-18, and .30 cal Browning Automatic Rifle.
