  1. India hasn't really expressed interest in the T-90MS. They are more interested in their own design; the T-90M Bhishma. That being said, Relikt/Kalina upgrades wouldn't surprise me. VT-4 is on the scale of the T-90A, hardly a competitor for the T-14. As I mentioned, Pakistan rejected the tank for being too little of an improvement versus the older, even outdated, VT-2.
  2. Both are hideous aircraft, lol. PAK-FA is drool-inducing like any of the Flankers.
  3. If we are going to bash it.... It's the ugliest aircraft I've seen in decades.
  4. Never mind that Pakistan rejected the thing...and ironically enough, because it wasn't a big upgrade over the VT2.
  5. I hate to blame it on the South...but this was their fault. The mine issue was some form of miscommunication with their own soilders, and then they tried to pin it on the North. Putting up the speakers was the cheery on top.
  6. To its' advantage, the T-50 has LEVCON's and controllable tails vs. the Su-27.
  7. The ones shown at the parade were fully functioning, possibly with the exception of a few things. Proof is in the fact they were sent to trials immediately after... The T-14 with the roof hatch opens also has the commanders gun removed. It looks like it was receiving maintenance after trialing of some sort.
  8. Well, we are talking about Europe here. They'll stick to what they are good at, and add a few things.
  9. From the quote you originally posted, it sounds like multi-layers of the stuff will really effective against APFSDS. How hilarious if it renders the M829E4 obsolete.
  10. IIRC, they were claiming the design would be finished around, or after 2025. One can still try to guess the features though, and I think we will see; - Modular AMAP armor. - AMAP APS. - Bustle-loader, probably from the French. - 1800 hp diesel. - Pneumatic suspension. Etc etc...
  11. The service hatch picture is great, and considering, it's really not all that thin. And the interview confirmed an anti-mine system of sorts. Great posting LoooSeR.
  12. I still like calling it MERA, makes it easy to describe. "Minimal-explosive-reactive-armor" The new 'MERA' seems to be more oriented around the plates than the explosives.
  13. That is exactly what Future Combat System was all about... Lightweight vehicles with no armor, that relied on APS systems for defense. Rather dumb idea if you ask me.
  14. DEW's in the role of APS are many decades off, because of the need to store energy, cost, inefficiency etc.
  15. But not conductive enough, or something like that. I'll try finding the original information, but I'm certain it concluded little to no effectiveness again KE. Afganit is great but it can not be relied on, so reactive armor is still necessary.
  16. Some guy debunked that possibility a while ago, forget where though. Supposedly the only way it can work is if the rod/jet tranfers energy from one area to another, and that isn't possible with Tungsten or DU rods.
  17. If it can engage a 1,700 m/s target, it probably won't take long to engage a 3,000 m/s target. Zaslon can actually hit ~1,700 m/s APFSDS but is only rated at 1,200 m/s, so Afganit may already be up there. We all know Relikt can be jammed, because it uses radar, because wiki says so.
  18. No such thing as "Nakidna-2". From what I heard it is a new RAM paint that also hides IR/thermal radiation, rather than being a fabric. Kaktus never properly finished development and was only intended for the Object-640. No such thing as a "2A83-1M" gun either...it is 2A82-1M, but that was confirmed a long time ago. Russia hasn't put much thought into electric armor, because it is practically pointless, a waste of energy, and has no use against KE rounds. Kaktus isn't in service because it probably can't be adapted to current models, and Relikt is seemingly superior anyway.
  19. This is the thing; The US doesn't have their hands on Relikt, they might not even know the exact layout of it. As such, it is dubious to claim it can *defeat something it was never tested against*. The only feasible way of defeating Relikt is to use multiple tips, which are sacrificed during the process of defeating the ERA. Problem with this is that mass (and hence penetration) will be lost in the process. T-14 doesn't use Relikt, it either uses an improved version of it, or something completely different. With 7 gears, a high power-to-weight ratio, lot of torque, and a low ground pressure, cross-country speed should be at least 55 km/h. I can't tell you how fast it can accelerate, but I can tell you that it will be faster than anything in service right now. T-14 might become unmanned eventually, but it is a long way off.
  20. They aren't. IMO all of the ERA has been replace by the ballistic solution. It's going to be 3,000 m/s in the future, according to rumors.
  21. Malachit is Explosive Reactive Armor that was tested on the Object-187, some people say it is related to Relikt. T-14 does not use it, and may not use ERA at all.
  22. Is Germany really going to acquire 100 Revolutions? Gurkhan and a few other sources made it seem that way.
