  1. Pretty damn dumb, obviously. Though in general they would have been safe because a properly run immunology lab would not have a risk for exposure under most circumstances.
  2. Glorious impenetrable Kruppstahl can be easily adjusted to any dimension needed of course.
  3. Eh, there's a lot of people out there that I would probably pass over in a burning building to save a chimp instead. Doubly so if I was just driving before I got there. PETA and especially ALF and all are completely useless and terrible though. My father does research that involves animals for immunology and the amount of hoops they have to jump through to ensure things are safe and proper is impressive. And it's not like he would be making stuff terrible for the animals otherwise as that can easily invalidate the results. Many years ago one of his labs got raided by ALF and they released all of the research mice from the cages and out of the building. Next to that building was a 'Raptor Rehabilitation Program' or something like that. Lots of scraps of little white mouse fur everywhere the next few days.
  4. Technically I suppose that's kinda true with the Star Wars universe too as they're "Star Destroyers", not just "Destroyers" I think the Freespace games did the Destroyers > Cruisers approach
  5. The greatest and most successful rocket ever made, without which we'd just be throwing rocks at the moon instead of having NASA?
  6. Well, save for what those silly Sci Fi settings that claim that Destroyers are the biggest vessels may claim. And of course there's the general size increase of seafaring ships overall to complicate matters further. The operating costs vs building costs are probably one of those things people (and the intellectually lazy members of congress) completely fail to understand. Something that costs 1B to build with 200M of yearly upkeep is actually more expensive than 1.5B/100M. That doesn't get into the potential bloat of each, but that's an entirely different topic anyways.
  7. I await to see the truly best thing that Germans are unmatchable at come into play with this: PR capable of turning an absolute disaster into a flawless world beater in the public eye.
