Syrian operative-level missile systems - Elbrus, Luna-M, Tochka.
    http://vestnik-rm.ru/news-4-13794.htm

    9K79 Tochka ("Point") being loaded.

It is known that OTRK "Tochka" were delivered to Syria sometime in the mid-1980s after the Lebanon War with Israel in 1982. Most of the various sources indicates 18 launchers, but it is not known how much of launchers were delivered for sure. We still do not reliably know how much MiG-29 were delivered to Syria, not even starting to speak about "Tochka". Considering the years of delivery, the Syrians probably got a "point" in its original version.

    Vehicle-launchers of 9K79 Tochka system

    - When was recorded first launch against militants? How many missiles were fired?
      - The first launches of Tochka/"Points" against militants have been recorded in late December 2012 - early January of 2013. Again, it is difficult to say how much missiles were launched from 2012, probably at least several dozen, as I have seen over a dozen different video of such rockets launches. For example, during the battle for Mureck in the north of the province of Hama, in the spring of 2014, it was at least a few strikes with Tochka, loaded with cluster munition warheads. The last time such video with fragments of the rocket i have seen at the end of 2014. According to some reports, these complexes are used until now.   Syrian missile system 9K72 "Elbrus"

    - What other types of missiles Syrians have?
      - Syria, in addition to solid fuel OTRK 9K79 "Tochka", have a liquid fuel 9K72E "Elbrus". The latter, as we know, after the collapse of the USSR the Syrians acquired Korean missiles "Hwasong-6" with extended range (they were produced in Iran under the name "Shahab-2"), and then the Koreans and the Iranians had organized their production and assembly in Syria.   9K52 "Luna-M"   In addition, Syria has received Iranian solid fuel "Fateh-110" in 2000s.  In addition to these systems with guided missiles, Syria still use our old systems, like Luna-M ("Moon") and Iranian "Zelzal" with unguided rockets.

Yeah. But they can try to play with separated and protected hull ammorack, maybe even with autoloader.
Funny thing - their APC can have same sized frontal and rear doors for dismounting infantry, can be useful in urban combat when space for movements is small.

If APC is like 70 tons, how will MBT looks like, if designers will get brain damage and try to copy Merkava?

"Cancelled" is a relative term for a big company like GDLS.

GDLS has enormous political pull, and aside from BAE Systems they're just about the only players in the heavyweight AFV game in the US.  And BAE isn't even entirely USian.

Sure, Textron has a division that makes M1117s and stuff, but a bunch of welded aluminum or steel plate on a wheeled chassis is a far cry from an MBT or IFV.

So, basically, GDLS can sit and wait and pull strings, and maybe their stupid MausAPC gets uncanceled at some point in the future.

Elections are close (November, IIRC), there is a good chance that he will lose. His son's company is buying oil from Daesh, apperently ours are waiting to see what will happen to daddy to find a moment to hit his son's "partners" and stop such easy oil sells for Daesh.

Blame KBP Tula for their shenanigans with documentation and Kalashnikov concern for their slow work!

Ok, I have to make a small correction.  The engine that was intended for the ROKIT was the AVCR-1790, not the AVDS-1790-9A.  These two engines are easy to confuse since they are both 1200HP and are essentially the same with the exception that the AVCR-1790 had variable compression pistons while the AVDS-1790 had conventional pistons.  The AVCR 1790 was the earlier engine, it was an attempt by Teledyne Continental to use the variable ratio piston tech they had developed for the AVCR-1100 and AVCR-1360 engines for the MBT-70 and General Motors XM-1 prototypes.  Anyhow, the Teledyne engineers messed up the design and the AVCR-1790 had issues.  Not long after the AVCR-1790 suffered it's fate, Teledyne was able to get 1200HP out of a conventional piston AVDS-1790 engine by introducing improved turbo-charging and after-cooling.  The AVDS-1790-9 1200HP engine is currently in service in the Merkava III and also in the Namer APC (the engine is still in production for this vehicle.)

    From this interview:

T-15 will get Baikal AU-220 unmanned module with 57 mm autocannon. They also plan a BMPT (possibly on Armata chassis) with 57 mm autocannon, supersonic ATGMs, 16 km max distance against air targets (including UAVs), vehicle will have huge amount of ammunition, remote comtrolled MGs.

Also one of possible candidates, in fact Iraqi army have Mi-28NE with radars and night optics/thermals. I think that this heli would have been better, although it seems that MoD is trying to either save them, or Mi-24's cargo compertment is usefull.

No, Ka-50s are not in production and their numbers are so low that forget about it.

Ka-52 are also not used, as they don't have ATGMs ready (Kalashnikov concern only recently restarted Vikhr ATGM production, Hermes-A long range missiles development stage is unknown for several years). Mi-35s were better choice, but they are covering Southern regions of Russia and they are pretty new (low number of "free" helicopters).
