CrashbotUS
There was probably someone had never flown before in the cargo area. We used to mention it to the pilots when we had a nub so they would give them an "extra special" ride.
Khand-e
WZ-19 showing that, while dedicated strike missions are by no means the purpose of the helicopter, It can certainly perform them if needed. It's intended as a stealth recon helicopter with very good communications and linkage with other battlefield assets and light support ability first and foremost though for the record though. It can also use 12.7mm and 23mm gun pods and short range air to air missiles not shown, but yeah. Belesarius

Yes, my understanding is that it's basically a scout/attack variant of the Dauphin, which sort of makes it a more conservative incarnation of the Comanche, if you squint. Can't help but think the US Army is missing out by not having an equivalent; they should buy AH-1Zs or something.

Can't help but think the US Army is missing out by not having an equivalent; they should buy AH-1Zs or something. Actually, that's sort of a mistake, the WZ-9 shares blood with the Dauphin, as does the WZ-11 to a lesser extent, the WZ-19 really doesn't in all but appearances however and is mostly a new airframe. (It's commonly misreported otherwise though) Also, I wouldn't say it's analogue is the AH-1Z, while it is faster and more agile/smaller then an Apache, It's not as capable in the attack role as a Viper is, it's more like a stealthier, larger OH-58 or an AH-6 with alot more recon and comms ability. Funnily enough, the WZ-10 is actually more like the AH-1Z with a badass main cannon then the Apache, where it's also much faster and agile with a slimmer body like the Viper, but judging by weight and range figures it obviously comes at the sacrifice of protection the Apache is rather well reputed for. Sturgeon
Oh, I didn't intend to say the WZ-19 was Viper-like, just that the Army maybe should have a dedicated scout helo. Belesarius

Khand-e
Paging Mech, the Wiki article on the Z-10 has a lot of detail; how accurate is it? Like the Type-99 and J-10 articles, it was vandalized by clueless dipshits using AUSairpower as a source a bit ago, though as far as I remember most of the damage has been picked up aside from a few bits of baseless speculation and unsourced bullshit that gets reverted. Also, they removed alot of actual sources that the admins block from being re added because they're amazing and such.

Belesarius
Only thing I can see is the Mi-40, which was apparently developed off the Mi-28. Kewl. Nice 'easter egg' hunt. I had never heard of that project before... Appears to be part of a BF2 mod. Edit: Anyone else kinda think that looks like a commieboo version of Airwolf? Sturgeon
Holy shit it's been long enough. They've been working on that for a really long time.I mean, I'm sure funding had a lot to do with it, but I also wonder if Kaman Kamov just cannot into conventional layout helos as well. They say that this helicopter will fill a market niche of 6-7 tons helis and will complement Mi-8/17s. Main use of new heli is civilian - including oil companies and emergency services.
