   The ALAS (Advanced Light Attack System) complex has been under development in Serbia since the 1990s with the participation of the private Serbian company EDePro (Engine Development and Production), created on the basis of the Laboratory of Jet Propulsion of Belgrade University and leading work in the field of jet weapons and rocket engines. The project was financed by the Jugoimport-SDPR, but before the conclusion of the agreement with the UAE, the lack of funds prevented the development of ALAS to level of full-scale serial production.

 

   In its present form, the ALAS missile has a mass of 50 kg, the mass of the warhead (can use different types) 10 kg, the length of the body is 2040 mm, the caliber is 175 mm and wings are 1450 mm wide. The missile has a command guidance system, including a television-thermal imaging with image transmission and control commands via a fiber-optic cable. The missile is equipped with an EDePro miniature turbojet engine TMM-404 Mongoose with a thrust of about 40 kg (in combination with two solid-propellant launch accelerators) and has a range of up to 25 km at a cruising speed of 180 m / sec, while developers are claiming the possibility of increasing the range of firing are up to 60 km.

 

   At the last IDEX-2017 exhibition in Abu Dhabi in February 2017, the representatives of Jugoimport-SDPR reported that the ALAS complex had successfully passed a test cycle with an inert warhead and that, in 2017, it was planned to test the system with real combat units, after which ALAS will be ready for serial production.

   One more rocket was tested, which was shown for the first time on the parade - a modernized version of the North Korean modifications of the OTRK "Elbrus" (Scud).
