The artillery brigade of the Central Military District received 12 2S7M "Malka" SPGs. As the press service of the Central Military District informs, Kemerovo artillerymen received these combat vehicles in the framework of the state defense order.

Self-propelled guns of increased firepower are created using elements of the design of the main battle tanks T-72 and T-80. Their 203-mm rifled cannons are capable of producing up to 3 rounds per minute RoF and are designed to destroy especially important targets and enemy targets at a distance of up to 50 km.

As the Estonian media reported, on June 26, 2018, Estonia finally signed a long-negotiated contract for the purchase of 12 self-propelled 155mm / 52 howitzer K9 Thunder from the South Korean army (SPGs were in use). The value of the contract is 46 million euros, it was signed by the State Defense Investments Center of the Ministry of Defense of Estonia (Riigi Kaitseinvesteeringute Keskus - RKIK) with the South Korean state foreign trade association KOTRA and the Hanwha Land Systems association (part of the South Korean group Hanwha).

/.../

It is assumed that the acquired K9 SPGs will be delivered to Estonia in two batches at the end of 2020 and in 2021 and will be transferred to the artillery division of the 1st infantry brigade of the Estonian army in 2021 (currently this division deployed in Tapa is equipped with the 155 -mm / 39 towed howitzers FN-70 and Soviet 122-mm towed howitzers D-30 received from Finland).

K9 is a hot thing.

How hard is to make a mortar?

"Poroshenko banned the use of mortars "Molot" (Hammer)"

Molot killed more Ukrainians than Russians. 3 UAF killed yesterday.

Maybe he could spare some Ammo now? The Bundeswehr has working mortars but almost exclusively overaged ammo:

Molot mortars achievements in service of UAF:

Quote

In July 2016, 120-mm mortar "Molot" exploded during the firing at the Shirokolanovsky testing range in the Mykolayiv region. Two men of the 57th Brigade were killed, 8 wounded.

In November 2016, the explosion of the Molot mortar in the village of Novonikolaevka in the Donetsk region - two soldiers of the Aidar battalion were killed.

In 2017, three Ukrainian fighters were killed in Avdeevka when firing from this mortar.

in 2.5-3 years this mortar system killed 10 and wounded 17+ of its crew.

They should add "rapid self-disassembly" as a feature of Molot mortars.
