About Vera NG

Maybe this isn't the right thread to post it because the system can technically track whatever what emits something, not only aircraft.

Belarussian company offers an upgrade for Shilka - ZSU-23-4BM.

The whole "modernisation" is in new optical system Strizh-M2 that replace old radar station on Shilka. Optical system is capable of automatic target detection and passive rangefinding using some sort of neural network.

Same info as on previous pic, in eng:

USAF radio relay plane E-11A crashed in Afghanistan in the area controled by Taliban. Most likely not shot down (Taliban has nothing to use against high flying planes). The number of fatalities is unclear. There are reports about two bodies recovered by Taliban. On the video it looks like the emergency exit is opened. Maybe some other crew mebers managed to escape.

As TASS news agency reported on January 27, 2020, Russia completed the delivery of the second regiment set of S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems to China by sea, and the delivery-acceptance certificate was signed in December in the PRC.

Photos from Houthi exhibition. 2K12, R-27 and R-73 are known to be used by them but how did R-77 get there (if they are real and not mock-ups of cource)? R-77 has an active radar seeker so I guess it can be used in improvised anti-air defence role just like they do with the infra-red air-to-air missiles.

Looks like Iran developed special AA loitering missile (or multipurpose missile) for Ansar Allakh and Yemeni army units supporting it. Missile is reffered as "358" in description by "US military sources".

But a military official familiar with the weapons, referred to as 358 missiles, described them as cruise missiles
/.../
The missiles consist of three parts: two motors and an explosive warhead. The weapon can be assembled after shipment and fired from a crude launcher on the ground. Once the missile is fired and traveling fast enough, a solid-fuel boost motor falls away and a cruise motor takes over; at that point, the weapon flies in a figure-eight pattern and looks for targets.

According to an American military official, the 358 missile in flight is about nine feet long and can run on kerosene or diesel fuel contained in flexible containers that do not require a separate fuel pump. A dozen infrared lenses arranged in a ring around the missile are believed to be able to defeat heat-seeking countermeasures that coalition helicopters typically use.

From old days - MD-PS SHORAD on Vodnik chassis. PS in the name means "increased stealth", AFAIK this thing was supposed to use only optical systems to detect targets. If you pay attention, that radar-looking device on top have 4 big optical lenses covering 360 degrees.

LNA claims to have shot down four Bayraktar drones in one night plus additional two quadcopters. Allegedly again by Pantsir S1 supplied by UAE. Hard to say if that is true. Sounds wild for sure.

Alleged wreckedge of some which fell on LNA territory.
