Movie tanks and terrible Vismods

Recommended Posts

Training vismods are great, because they show the features that are emphasised in vehicle recognition training by the state that made them. You can be there's a japanese AFV recognition guide somewhere that says '4 guns, radar on back of turret, log = ZSU23-4'. You can see a similar effect on the M551/T-80 vismod:

where the recognition list probably goes something like 'ERA, big gun with no observable bore evacuator, protruding mudguards on front of vehicle, searchlight on right side of gun, AA MG'

MT-LBs look to make excellent platforms for Ferdi mock-up conversions.  The only serious thing you would have to due is put the gun and superstructure up over the troop compartment, and then there's just a few touches to make here and there.

I'm confused as to what the last one is supposed to be, other than German.

The way the commanders station sticks out from the side of the turret brings to mind the King Tiger "P" turret.  Anyhow, the expression "artistic license" comes to mind.
