Sturgeon
I don't remember. The cost was not so much a problem as finding one for sale was.

roguetechie
Sturgeon, do you have any of the Russian 6mm unified cases bullets or etc?

roguetechie
That's pretty much the answer I expected honestly. You do seem to have pretty solid dimensions etc for it though, which is way better than nothing.

My assumption is that shoulder angle and case taper are the same as 5.45x39mm. The base is identical to 7.62x39. The overall length and case length are given from various spec sheets for the round. From there, it's pretty easy to make a guess.
roguetechie
Yeah, I figured that someone sufficiently determined could pretty much figure out almost all the dimensions etc to pretty high accuracy and a very high confidence in their findings with the information available etc... It would involve more pixel counting and other arcane ways of photogrammatry I believe it's called than I want to do (aka determining dimensions distances etc from a photograph which also involves discerning as much as possible about where the camera was in relation to the object etc)

EnsignExpendable
What's the indentation for?

Whatever grade of mild steel it is that they make cartridge cases out of has less elasticity than brass.

Xlucine
People were developing military loadings for 30.06 after the late 80's? That seems unusually late, surely the 30.06 came first?

Very aerodynamic bullet made of aluminum with a brass jacket to increase moment of inertia. Used early in CETME development. Kraut space magic but made in Spain.
