Possible, but in case of T-15 there is small question on weight balance of vehicle. I posted today a 160megapixel photo of that thing and it shows that frontal part is more loaded than rear. Many other videos and photos shows this too, maybe because infanrltry compartment is not finished and missing stuff.

Just some corrections:

1. "electronic system" is most likely aiming device or similar, part of Active protection system.

2. "Unknown sensors" are observation cameras. As some people noted, there are models of such cameras in production that can detect lasers as well, so it might be laser sensors too.

3. "Unknown system" are very likely to be small radars of the "Afganit" active protection system.

4. "Active protection system" - author forgot to add hard-kill part of system, he highlighted only "soft-kill" part.

look out guys, according to International Business Times, the T-14 will have "ceramic armor."  Why, I've never heard of such a thing!

“Ceramic armor testing has been completed this year. All expected properties have been confirmed. Batch production has begun,” Russian manufacturer NEVZ-Ceramics’ chief Andrey Nikitin told the Russian news agency TASS. Armor that uses a combination of steel and ceramic plating is much lighter and 50 percent stronger than traditional armor composed of steel alone, he added."

So about that Chinese black PR stunt - next wait for India claiming that Arjun can go through Armata with just laser rangefinder.

"Just look at that sheet metal on turret - our laser rangefinder will penetrate it with ease!"

And then Damian would go on the few defense boards he's not banned from yet claiming it as absolute truth while talking out of his ass as usual and anyone who denies is just a "Russian/Chinese nationalist fanboy!"

40 000 views... from which 38k are mine, 1k is just Google and Bing bots, and 1k is actual views

Well, lets do a small restrospective.

T-14 will use Relikt ERA,

Yeah, i was wrong. Armata-based vehciles are equipped with new type of reactive armor, which is more a bland of reactive and ballistic armor.

T-14 is rumored to be equipped with 30 (or even 57) mm autocannon, 4-6 barrel gatling type MG/HMG, new 125 (2A82) or even 152 mm (2A83) smoothbore cannons. Turret is unmanned, crew of 3 would be located in frontal part of hull, behind very serious frontal armor inside of compartment, well protected from all directions.

30 and 57 mm cannons were not presented on T-14's, but some insiders are hinting that designers still want to add some sort of autocannon on it, like they did with Object 195. We have to look, it maybe a part of urban combat kit or later upgrade. Rumors were right about 125 mm and partially about 152 mm cannons, as well as about crew and crew compartment.

but i don't understand why there is such a big turret "busket" for unmanned turret with all ammo placed inside of hull in special armored housing.

Man, why they did it? Why they added that turret busket...

and proposed FSC radar on 3D model (i assume that panoramic sight is for commander). Laser sensors on 3D model are from T-90A variant of "Shtora".

Some officials mentioned works on new active protection system, that consist of powerfull radar station, that can work on "long ranges" and engage incoming projectiles (missiles) with that gatling MG. Will this system survive development stage and be presented on serial tanks is unknown.

No FCS radar, but real vehicles had APS radars. And i don't even speak about CIWS. Maybe they did test it and found not worth to add on a tank with already mounted APS.

I think this will end up like PAK-FA.  There were tons of studies and a handful of prototypes for new fighter aircraft in the late Soviet era, but PAK-FA was not a rehash of any of them.  People thought it would be based on 1.44, 7.01 or Berkut, but it was a novel design.  Internet speculation on its appearance was generally wrong.

Comradenatrix was right here.

.....

A likely shopping list of features of Armata looks like this IMO:

-New 125mm gun that is backwards-compatible with existing ammunition stocks, but can use unitary ammunition with longer penetrators.  You probably can't get such a weapon to the same class as the Rheinmetall 120mm; there just isn't enough case volume to work with, but you could go a long way in bridging the gap, especially if the pressure ceiling were higher.

-Urban combat-oriented features like the JSDF Type 10.  Lots of cameras for driver and commander, remote weapons stations of some sort, thermal optics to highlight ATGM kill teams (how many times have you seen combat footage from Syrian and thought "man, those RPG tank-killer teams would be totally screwed if those T-72s had been refitted with thermals?"), short overall hull length, high-precision neutral steer, etc.

-Hydropneumatic suspension.  The Soviets have been playing with it since the 1950s, and now that the Russians aren't doing ginormous 10K production runs, they can splurge a bit on bling.

-Modular armor ala Merk IV seems to be the way to go.  For very little extra cost, you reserve the ability to up-armor your tank very easily in the future.

-Getting rid of the the frontal weak points around the driver's hatch and gun mantlet.  They've been trying to do this since Object 187, and Russian milbloggers love to harp on similar weakpoints on the abrams.

-Probably no turbine, alas.  Russian gas turbines still aren't as good as American or Western European models.  SFC and power density are comparable to their American counterparts and sometimes a little better, but TBO is still much, much worse.  A diesel should be fine, especially a fancy new common-rail fuel injector type.

-Auxiliary autocannon seems likely.

-I wouldn't rule out a driver-in-turret configuration.  The Soviets did more research on this arrangement than anyone else.

1) Is sort of happened. AFAIK new 125 mm gun is more powerfull than NATO 120 mm counterparts, question is in ammunition now.

2) Almost all happened, except hull length. Cameras are everywhere - sidies, rear looking, frotnal looking, and more, RCWS, etc.

3) That was close, Comradenatrix, that was close. Although one can say that UVZ wanted to save simplicity of torsion bars and add some interesting abilities on top of that.

4) Modular armor is sort-of in use from T-72B  :P And T-14 use this idea for sure, at least for ERA and side skirts.

5) No UFP weakspot this time, finally.

6) Yes, you got it too. Diesel, 1200-to-1500 HP.

7) Object 195's 30 mm autocannon managed to trick almost everybody. Maybe even designers themselfs  :D

T-15 3D model was very close to what we actually saw later.

Engine exhaust and type of Active protection system are wrong, though.

Unmanned turret with 57 mm autocannon, rumors are hinting that this turret can be mounted on T-15 later. Laser warning sensors, smoke grenade launchers, new panoramic sight, it looks more mature than first model, showed before.

XAXAXAXA RUSSIA STRONK

THEY SAY ZSU-57-2 WILL NEVER COME TO IFV

THEY SAY 30mm/12.7mm/14.5mm IS STRONK ENOUGH FOR AA GUN

THEY SAY THAT 57mm IS TOO BIG FOR MOUTINGS OF IFV, EVEN DECIDANT OVERWEIGHT GERMAN AND SCANDINAVIAN TRANSPORTS CAN ONLY MUSTER 50mm

BUT I SAY ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE WITH GLORIOUS RUSSIAN ENGINEERING

Interview with Deputy General Director of "Uralvagonzavod" Vyacheslav Khalitov.

http://nvo.ng.ru/armament/2015-06-19/1_armata.html

Some points -

- they plan to get rid of gunner in some future;

- accoding to what he said T-14 have autoloader in turret basket, (i doubt that it is true);

- there are no height restrictions for Armata crews;

"And how things are going with replacement of the power unit in Abrams?

- They also can do it quickly. On the "Leopard" - even faster. And they did solved that problem a long time ag. We caught up with them just now."

"Multi-level protection from both conventional weapons and future weapons, including the high-precision weapons. The first - a system to prevent detection. Achieved through the use of stealth technology, a special paint and vehicle architecture."

"- Dmitry Rogozin said that "Armata" may get more powerful gun - 152 mm. IS this option being considered?
- In developing of the vehicle, we have provided an opportunity to use different combat modules - with guns from 30 mm, as the T-15, up to 152 mm. And no significant structural changes are required to mount different combat module."

"- I do not doubt that the West would certainly try to somehow respond to the emergence of "Armata" But I do not agree with the assertion that "Armata" will be reason to intensify the arms race. There is no politics in the fact of its appearance. The T-72 is in service for almost half a century, it is time to prepare a replacement."
