Thats is self-digging equipment (dozer blade), which some western bloggers/medias misidentified as anti-mine protection/EW system.

Similar device was mounted on the T-80, for example.

One more picture of T-14 turret without "outer shell", artist impression.

Little bit about "controlable" suspension of the T-14/Armata chassis.

It use hull oscillations sensors and computer to create commands for suspension active elements.

This controlable rotary shock absorber was prototype for testing.

Basic idea behind it is to decrease hull vibration/oscillations during driving at speed to increase stability of platform and gun accuracy as a result.

In fairness, it does look similar to the merkava's belly protection

It is not. Merkava tanks have very differently looking mine protection plates. Something like this was described by those articles.

Articles that i saw are speaking about anti-mine EW system. Merkava tanks are equipped with passive protection on their hulls against IEDs.

Ah, you're right - that website is pretty far from the mark, they also claim:

  • there'll be an armata based BMPT
  • Gunner is behind the driver on T-14
  • no coax MG
  • T-15 needs moar dakka, and might have another weapon mounted in a box over the gun

I'm pretty sure they're confusing the infantry section commander with the gunner on T-15 as well, but I'm not certain about it
