The ones shown at the parade were fully functioning, possibly with the exception of a few things. Proof is in the fact they were sent to trials immediately after...

The T-14 with the roof hatch opens also has the commanders gun removed. It looks like it was receiving maintenance after trialing of some sort.

China claims the tank, known as the VT-4 to the export market, is superior to any other production tank on the market. By comparison to Russian tanks, they say it is better than T-90S and T-90AM models, forcing Russia to put its cutting-edge T-14 Armata on the market.[citation needed] Although touted by Russia as the first fourth-generation tank to enter service globally and one of the most powerful tanks on the future battlefield, Norinco claims the T-14 is weaker than the VT-4 in terms of automation, mobility, fire-control systems, and cost, the VT-4 having a more reliable transmission, better FCS, and lower price

Take marketing claims with a generous helping of salt.

Honestly, literally anyone from the a single door to door salesman just trying to get by to the largest countries are going to use such marketing tactics saying why their products are clearly superior to their competitors, that's the most basic marketing tactic ever when trying to garner sales from interested clients.

If the MBT-3000 was as good as they say it is in marketing attempts and they actually believed that, They'd surely be using it themselves over the Type-99A2/Type-99B (Chinese designation) and Type-96Gs as It's cheaper and supposedly just as good, if not better then them. This clearly isn't the case however as they intended it to be export only (aka, watered down) from the beginning and never once considered actually putting it in service.

India hasn't really expressed interest in the T-90MS. They are more interested in their own design; the T-90M Bhishma. That being said, Relikt/Kalina upgrades wouldn't surprise me.

VT-4 is on the scale of the T-90A, hardly a competitor for the T-14. As I mentioned, Pakistan rejected the tank for being too little of an improvement versus the older, even outdated, VT-2.

Ohh how could i not notice! That Kurganets have 9K23BM "Log-M1" equipment installed! Most important part of any Soviet/Russian AFV is on its place, vehicle is ready for combat.

I actually got fooled for a second there.

Grifel? Those are old ammo for Soviet 152 mm smoothbore guns. IIRC it was planned to be used in Object 299, 477A "Molot" and maybe "Nota".

Unless my eyes deceive me, the ventilation grilles are gone and the driver's station has moved forward and to the left.

And if you pay more attention. you will see that Kurganets at parade had a place for driver hatch, but it was remade to accept different engine.
