Thanks.

Though why should the T-14 be secret? I think the NATO already knows a lot about it.

That Journalist is annoying, I agree.

I doubt that NATO knows about Armata UHTP anything more than public or me :-D , if judging by their previous achivements with "T-70" and T-64 with all-steel armor.

Did UVZ confirm the 1 700 m/s APFSDS can be intercepted by Afganit claim btw?

No, why would they? They are not designer of that system, and i suspect that all characteristics are secret. Note that APS on B-11 IFV covers 360°, while Armata-based AFVs have only frontal part covered. I don' think this was just a random error.

So where does that claim come from? I always thought Afganit can only intercept SC attacks, and not APFSDS.

Claim can come from different sources, i know about one interview. I don't remember who is lead design company for Afganit, could be NII Stali (they created a soft-kill active protection system for UVZ new AFVs). 1700 m/s is, per claims, upper limit of interception, which means that plenty of APFSDS projectiles can be hit by Afganit (in theory).

But that's not possible! We all know Russia has the worst electronics in the world! Cameras? Monitors? This is heresy! I know you're Putin and you want to deceive the West. I know that. The CIA knows that. You won't succeed Commie Capitalist Imperialist Socialist whatever you are.

- literally every NATO fanboy out there.

http://www.militarynews.ru/story.asp?rid=1&nid=389043

The state re-arming program includes purchase of 2300 tanks and combat vehicles on the "Armata" chassis until 2020-2025, said on Monday the CEO of "Uralvagonzavod" Oleg Sienko.

Commenting on the rumors that the tank "Armata" is worth 500 million rubles, the CEO said that he "is almost two times less than that". Siyenko said that the first experimental batch of T-14 tanks will be completely given to the army in 2016. "We will give new tanks this year for testing", - he said.

And about observation cameras video feed.

"[You are] absolutely right. 360 degrees view is "glued" from signals of the individual cameras.

the azimuth and [vertical] angle of the target can be transferred to the FCS both from TC's panoramic sight, and from observation cameras. MTS (moving target selector) program is present in the processing of all video feeds. "

Oh, so NOW they come out with a number. I always laughed at WMSM for claiming Russia was going to get 2,300 Armata's by 2020...bollocks

250-300 million Rubles is very low considering how devalued it is. I expected closer to 350 million, to be honest.

Why even bother with converting rumbles to dollars, we are not buying Armata and parts from other countries.

Comparison with NATO tank pricing.

Leopard 2A6M costs around 10 - 12 million USD.

Leopard 2A7+ costs 38 million USD. (no official number given, but I got that number from the deal with Qatar)
