I thought you had a barrel already.

I do, but it's not chrome lined, and it's a 1:12 twist, so it's not exactly the best. Mostly I got it because it was a cheap add on to the kit, and I wanted it for reverse engineering

I went to the range with a friend of mine the other day. It wasn't difficult to decide which rifle to take. While we were there, his AR was having some problems, and we needed some tools to take it down and address the issues. He starts looking around for something that can stand in as a punch; car keys, cartridges, knife, etc. I calmly walk over to the ever prepared Kalashnikov rifle and retrieve it's included toolkit, which I used to repair his decadent capitalist rifle, pampered and unprepared for use in the field.

Without me even saying a word, my friend looks over to me and says "shut up, just shut up"

I have a problem.

I really want an S&W500

But not because I hate my wrists.

I want to load these bullets.

700 grain lead bullets.

I want to load them to travel around 700 or 800 FPS out of the gun.

Because... Because.

I've shot a S&W 500 with 700gr subsonic handloads. It was a lot more manageable than you'd expect. Of course the gun still recoils to about a 60 degree attitude.

That's basically what I would be shooting for (wink wink).

Just a big-ass gun shooting big-ass bullets so that I can live out my fantasy of being Hellboy.

Look, Sammy, I'm not a very good shot...but the Samaritan here uses really big bullets.

Got some time in at the indoor range today.

My el-cheapo Delton Midlength rifle, complete with the cheapest DPMS lower and lower parts kit. The Tapco 6-position has amazingly survived all these years.

I have back-up irons, but use the 3x Vortex Prism scope primarily.

After warming up at 50, I took it to 100.

55 grain Fiocchi ammo. Their m193 clone I guess.

For the rifle/ammo/optic combo, I'm happy with this 10-shot group at 100 yards.

I couldn't help myself and got a Slavic ghettoblaster.  Already removed the accursed safety, going to be ordering some nicer grips so it doesn't feel like holding a 2x4.  The clip holding on one of the grip panels was bent too when I got it, so would be nice to have both sides sitting in firmly.

I spent too much on a comically inaccurate rifle.

It came with the modern polymer furniture on it but retro is always cooler.

Sure, it's not the most accurate rifle, but it is still the sexiest.

Retro is why I put laminate on my shorty 74.
