A thread on human genetics started by a South African referencing a guy called Reich...

I find your lack of engagement with the content of the thread disturbing.

Apparently humans have about 5 % Neanderthal and about 5% Denisovian DNA crossover.  And Denisovians and Neanderthals cross bred as well, at least occasionally. Interesting stuff.  Horny teenagers will really fuck just about anything. :P

One of the interesting things is that the crossover isn't evenly distributed.

Euros got most of the Neanderthal DNA, while asians got most of the Denisovian. There's even stuff that we're picking up which suggests other, as yet unidentified, hominids got in there as well.

Human genetics conspires to fuck the mensa set:

Side note: as always, the single best thing you can do to try and maximise your child's overall traits is to look for a mate with the highest possible complementary scores to your own traits using your given mating budget and strategy. Which you're unconsciously doing already.

If you want to consciously maximise a specific polygenic trait, know that the tradeoff will be more-than-compensatory lowering of scores in other areas. This accordingly applies, mutatis mutandis, to your selected mate.
