Terror Attacks and Active Shooter Events Thread

I find this particularly weird:

Quote

A hotel security guard briefly engaged the gunman while police were searching for his location, Lombardo said. Then police and Swat teams converged on the room, around which time Paddock is believed to have killed himself.

Why fight one and not the other?  He surely wasn't short on ammo, it looks like there are 1500+ ready rounds in that picture alone.....All very odd.

And odder:

Unfortunately timed coincidence?  More?

This is just bizarre:

That sure doesn't sound like a single source to me, could it perhaps be echoes, or maybe the fire-fight with security inside and then the perp shooting outside again?  WTF!

Strobe light visible in window @4:59.....Could he have deployed countermeasures?  You can hear several different weapons over the course of the video, including what may be an AR with a crank @5:30

So multiple SlideFires... I still really want to know if any of the rifles were configured for the bump-SAW exploit. You can do it with just a VFG, but barring a true machine gun, the SF/bipod trick is the best way to get an ROF that consistent.

At this point... I'm just mad and that's got me interested. I need something to do, and staring at the rifles until my eyeballs turn to jelly is, well, it's something I guess.

The person who stitched those 3 photos together needed to turn up the brightness, in the individual ones it is much clearer.

Do you have links to the originals please?

FWIW I found this:

Quote

Australian Brian Hodge, who previously worked at Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast, claimed he was staying in the room next to the shooter on level 32 at the Las Vegas resort.  He said he managed to escape the initial horrific scenes inside the hotel but found himself forced to hide in a bush for several hours after the event.

“I got outside safely and was hiding in bushes,” Mr Hodge said.

“There were multiple people dead and multiple shooters. I was just hiding waiting for police to come get us."

It's been suggested that some of the sound weirdness may have been the concert venue's PA picking up the sound of gunfire.....Which would kind of make sense I guess.

Entirely understandable man.

When the police release the transcript of the suicide note and the video that he recorded of himself shooting, it will answer a lot of questions.

I mean, if he's there mumbling Aloha Snackbar like in every ISIS battlefield propaganda video, it will be kind of a dead give away of his motives...

Two possibilities occur to me:

1. "Motive remains a mystery" because the motive is known but not politically viable.

2. The scumbag's motive was, as they say, "for teh lulz".

This is one of my thoughts as well.

On the other hand, there is so much about this particular shooting that is so dissimilar from recent lone gunman attacks like at Sandy Hook or the Aurora movie theater in the methodology of the attack

The closest analog to this event that I can think of - assuming this is a lone wolf scenario and not a conspiracy/terrorist attack - was the Texas Tower Sniper, Charles Whitman, who killed 17 people and wounded 31 others from atop a tower at the University of Texas in 1966.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Whitman

And this is also a suspicion of mine. Charles Whitman had something organically wrong with him - not psychological - in that he had a tumor which probably affected his judgment.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Whitman#Investigations

It would not be unheard of for an "average guy" to get a tumor - or something - which causes him to act abnormally like this.

(Just spitballing btw)

So how much damage to the second amendment should we expect because someone retarded put the bouncy stocks into production.  At one point Hillary was really pushing for gun manufactures to be open to be sued for the weapons being used in mass killings etc. If they got something like that in place, the gun industry would be in deep shit, will these idiotic devices for idiots who just have to have  fo full auto, and are to cheap to just rent one at Battlefield Vegas or some other place like it, be the catalyst that gets it in place?

It's not like republicans haven't thrown the gun owners of this country under the bus when similar things have happened in the past.

Why must the democrats demand the guns be taken away from the people who need them to defend themselves from democrats with illegal guns.

I expect things that were made to skirt around the Hughes Amendment to become a sacrificial lamb.

If you want to tin foil, the timing of this and the SHARE act is as lousy as it was when those congressmen were shot at.

Every late night host, and talking head on all the dying legacy media were spewing all the same BS about the SHARE act today, I think it's toast, and hopefully only the makers of the stupid bump stocks are the only damage.

If you really want a machine gun, do the paperwork, pay the money and move to a county they allow it, and just buy one.  Though, if this clown had  done all the paperwork and gotten a legal MG things would really be dire.
