XQ-58A Valkyrie

"The XQ-58A Valkyrie demonstrator, a long-range, high subsonic unmanned air vehicle completed its inaugural flight March 5, 2019 at Yuma Proving Grounds, Arizona. The Air Force Research Laboratory partnered with Kratos Unmanned Aerial Systems to develop the XQ-58A."

"Developed for runway independence, the aircraft behaved as expected and completed 76 minutes of flight time. The time to first flight took a little over 2.5 years from contract award. The XQ-58A has a total of five planned test flights in two phases with objectives that include evaluating system functionality, aerodynamic performance, and launch and recovery systems."

   The website of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property contains information on an industrial design of an unmanned interceptor aircraft developed by the Almaz-Antey Aerospace Defense Concern JSC.

   The UAV is controlled by the operator through on-board television systems for detecting, targeting and aiming. Shooting at target is implemented on the basis of the smooth-bore carbine "Vepr 12 Molot" of 12 caliber with electric trigger and box magazine for 10 rounds. The device makes shots in the automatic mode, continuing to fly with a given course, and if the target is not hit, then UAV can continue to follow the object without further adjusting the course.

   LG-2K plywood drones with a length of 3.9 meters and a wingspan of 8.3 meters. UAV is able to carry cargo weighing up to 725 kilograms in the inner compartment with a volume of 1.2 cubic meters.

   The mass of the device is 181 kilograms, in addition it can be equipped with a landing parachute, but then the capacity of the cargo compartment will decrease to 1 cubic meter. During the past tests, six LG-2K drones were launched from a helicopter. They were transported on an external sling, and near the point of destination they were disengaged and flew to the given coordinates. Six other vehicles were launched from the plane [Shorts SC-7 Skyvan].

   After launch, seven unmanned aerial vehicles were remotely controlled, the remaining five were planned to a given point in a fully autonomous mode. The total time that LG-2K drones spent in planning mode was 54 minutes. Tests of the devices were unanimously recognized as successful - drones confirmed the declared characteristics.

   On March 20, 2019, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at the airfield of Starokonstantinov (Khmelnitsky region) took part in the regular ceremony of transferring about 420 new and repaired units of military equipment to the Ukrainian armed forces. Among other things, the first Ukrainian-received reconnaissance-strike unmanned aerial vehicles Bayraktar TB2 produced by Turkish private company Baykar Makina were spotted. At the ceremony, two Bayraktar TB2 UAVs with numbers "401" and "403" were demonstrated, another unit with a onboard number "402" was demonstrated in flight.

The first flight of the Turkish ANKA Aksungur UAV

   On March 20, 2019, the first prototype of the new Turkish large twin-engined unmanned aerial vehicle ANKA Aksungur (program designated as YFYK - Yüksek Faydalı Yük Kapasiteli, designation ANKA-2), developed and built by the Turkish aircraft construction association Turkish Aerospace Industries (IAA), made the first flight. It lasted 4 hours and 20 minutes and ended with a successful automatic landing. This first prototype of ANKA Aksungur (YFYK) number 18-001 was first demonstrated by the TAI on February 8, 2019.

   Lantset have 2 version - Lantset-1 and -3, first with 1 kg load and second with 3 kg. Speeds for both are 80-110 km/h, -1 can fly for 30 min, -3 for 40 min. Here is PR video, with crappy explosion sounds added for some reason.

   The interlocutor of the agency explained that the "Pack-93" is formed from the monoplanes "COM-93". The combat load of each such drone is 2.5 kg.

   “Separately, this is not enough, but with a massive strike on the enemy’s objects and equipment, a serious effect can be achieved. At the same time, the use of such UAVs is not expensive, ” D. Lopatkin noted.
