Okhotnik UAV first flight

Higher efficiency at the cost of thrust. It seems to indicate optimisation for long duration, level flight.

   LNA shot down Polish Warmate.

I wouldn't take it as granted who actually shot it down. Some say it's used by UAE and in that case it would be used by LNA. Who knows at this moment...

MOSCOW, April 20. / TASS /. The Kronstadt Group and the Russian Ministry of Defense signed an acceptance certificate for the first Orion long-range unmanned complex of three vehicles. On Monday, TASS said the chief designer of "Kronstadt" Nikolai Dolzhenkov.
/.../
He noted that the signing of the Orion acceptance certificate is an important event for the country. "This [happened], by the way, for the first time in Russia with a complex of such a size," the designer emphasized.

According to Dolzhenkov, now there should be a phase of trial operation of the complex. "The customer had additional wishes that were not originally present, so we will take it back and finalize the complex according to the additional task of the customer," he said.

"Orion" is a medium-high unmanned complex of long flight duration, the maximum take-off mass of which is 1 ton, and the maximum payload mass is 200 kg. Its “ceiling” reaches 7.5 km, the maximum flight duration with a standard load is 24 hours, and the speed is up to 200 km / h.

In the latest photos from the Shanghai Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard, where two Project 075 universal landing ships are build, Chinese military bloggers spotted an unmanned aerial vehicle on the deck of the main helicopter carrier, presumably a naval version of the AVIC AR500C with a lightweight radar with AFAR, the first flight of which held in May 2020.

The drone is designed for reconnaissance, target designation and relay. It is capable of speeds up to 170 kilometers per hour and fly at altitudes of up to four thousand meters. It is reported that the AR500C can spend up to 8 hours in the air and is equipped with a lightweight radar with an active phased antenna array and the function of illuminating moving targets.

   Serbia demonstrated Chinese UAVs CH-92A.

On July 4, 2020, a presentation of reconnaissance and attack unmanned aerial vehicles CH-92A manufactured by the Chinese state aerospace corporation China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), which will be adopted by the Serbian army, was held at the Bateinitsa airbase.

Six Chinese-made unmanned aerial vehicles were delivered to Serbia from the PRC aboard the military transport aircraft Il-76 of the Russian Aerospace Forces earlier this week.

The presentation was attended by President of Serbia Alexander Vučić and Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army, General Milan Moisilovic.

MQ-25 with refueling pod: https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/35004/this-is-our-first-look-at-boeings-mq-25-tanker-drone-carrying-a-refueling-pod

A question of mine since I know little about it. Can it refuel other aircraft without the pods using an integral pipe as well? I am asking because the pods naturally ruin the stealth shape of the UAV.

In other news Armenian MOD presented a lot of Azeri drone and loitering munition wreckage from the recent fighting. Some only lightly damaged, possibly brough down by EW means.

By the way, yes. Orion seems to be "growing up" or has already grown up, since the military categorically wants to throw several Kh-50s from it. Kronstadt itself at one time positioned it as a reconnaissance with a limited ability to strike, but the Ministry of Defense said that we did not need this.
With regard to contracts - the total number is about 1-2 sets per military district. Approximately - because the representative categorically refused to tell the exact number, so Anon count yourself how many there will be.
By the way, Sirius will already fly by satellite as an "adult".

Well, those UAVs are MALE class, medium altitude, long endurance, they are supposed to hang out in skies for a long time.

Kronstadt - very pleased with their openness.
Orion and other UAVs at first said (on the external display) that they did not have low visibility, they initially wanted to but then decided not to go deeper, and the triangular shape is a tribute to fashion, then another (inside) already said that they possess lower visibility due to composite materials (they talked about the gluing of layers on matrices, to be honest, I did not really understand).

Orion was tested in Syria using weapons.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation was supplied with a set (3 vehicles), but returned for revision because the Ministry of Defense wanted more opportunities for armament.

ATGMs are not yet applicable because they have a more "hard" start.

Orion is able to work in the following way: 1 machine scouts, 1 attacks, 1 to transmit control signals.
They said about a fully automatic landing and takeoff, calmly ("without moving") sat down with a side wind of 25 m / s. They also talked about 3 ways to control Orion - radio, satellite, "own brain", when trying to intercept the external control channel through which they tried to intercept, it turns off automatically and the UAV returns to the base (confirmed by tests).

The engines are their own production, they spied bits in Rotoks, some of the parts are bought from them abroad, because it is so far easier, a complete transition to localy made is planned.

Grom is subsonic because while the supersonic is too early, need to gain experience. A radar is planned.

And yes: Sirius and Thunder are made by order of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and they were given 3 (three) years before the first flight!

From Army 2020, a bit of info about Orion and other Russian UAVs made by Kronshtadt

Primoco One 150 is not yet finished product but it's at this moment already used in Malaysia for border and coast guard (the certification process according to STANAG 4703 is underway). Not purely military equipment as it is designed to serve also a lot of civilian roles. It's Czech built and near completely locally developed (including two engine types) UAV with 150 kg MTOW and 15 hours endurance (with speciffic consumption of 2,2 l/hour) and 30 kg payload. Equipped with several equipment slots so that it can be used with multiple sensors at the same time. They claim it's the only drone of such weight class which can be equippped with SAR AESA radar (Imsar NSP-7). The integrated camera uses dayling LLLTV channel with 30x zoom and  thermal MWIR channel with 15x zoom with object tracking option. From other equipment there is for example a LIDAR option. It can be eqipped with GPS/Galileo/Glonass or Beidou navigation backed by an in-built innertial unit. The datalink range is 200 km. During one emergency situation one Malaysian drone was being flown in real time by an engineer sitting in Czechia, i.e. nearly 10 thousand kilometers away. Maximum flight altitude is 3300 meters. It needs 300 meters long runway and it can land and take off automatically. The wingspan is 4,85 m for an idea about the size.

I have first time learned about its existence when I was bored during the spring Covid quarantine and watched the empty Flightradar24. There was something unidentified doing dozens of loops over Písek (South Bohemia). That was probably an endurance test.
