Historical Pictures Thread

Recommended Posts

There's a page on Facebook called Traces of Texas.

Texas has an incredibly rich history, and they post some really cool pictures and articles. This was one here today, and I thought it was neat.

June 1937. The child of a Texas migrant family who follow the cotton crop from Corpus Christi to the Panhandle. It strikes me that she very well could still be alive, though she'd be roughly 90 years old.

The French did equip a lot of allied countries like Romania or Serbia. So it wouldn't be impossible that a Russian would see French kit.

Edit: Also this could be on a multinational front like Salonika in Greece. Where French, British, Russians and others were hemmed in by the Germans and Bulgarians.

The suffragettes are participants of the movement for the granting of electoral rights to women, as well as the elimination of discrimination in economic and political life. The movement gained particular popularity in the late XIX - early XX century in the US and Britain (women got electoral rights in the United States in 1920, in the UK - in 1928)
