Jeeps_Guns_Tanks
Yeah I think those are infrared lights, they had a night vision setup for the driver, I don't think it worked well. Jeeps_Guns_Tanks
Huh, I wonder why they had a counterweight on the M3 gun on the Lee. Its a pretty early tank too, it still has the hull guns! It is also missing the counterweight for the 37mm.
EnsignExpendable
Pasholok says that the counterweight was found inside the tank when it was recovered, that is why it was attached.

Walter_Sobchak
This video is not specifically about the Sherman, but considering who is giving the lecture, I figured I would post it here.

That's interesting, I wonder if the tank had an M2, then had an M3 put in and they just tossed the counterweight inside and shipped it to the USSR? The M3 in the parade is the same M3 that was recovered from the ocean?

This was pretty good. There was a very amusing wehraboo question about the first assault weapons, and how could the US Army deal with such superweapons right at the end. The person asking the question is super annoying.

That is why the wheels are wrong for the M3.

So do the Russians have some dank old warehouse, in the back corner of some old base that has Sherman tracks and suspensions, and motors just sitting in crates? Are they running the proper motors or have they found something more modern they can slap in?

EnsignExpendable
German gunners must have been confused when they never saw this mish-mash of early and late Sherman characteristics, or whatever those bogeys are supposed to be. DogDodger
Jeeps, I know it's a heckuva way from CA, but the Armor and Cavalry Collection is doing open houses at Benning monthly for the next few months, and you might like some of what they have to see. EnsignExpendable
@Jeeps_Guns_Tanks have you seen this photo before? I'm trying to figure out if it's a British Sherman. I think I see a WD number on the side, but I can't tell. It definitely doesn't look like an American registration number.
