UAE/KSA attempting to advance while Houthis were busy with Saleh and Yemeni army units loyal to him, short post by Yuri Lyamin on a subject:

Quote

The coalition forces took advantage of the weakening of the Houthis forces on the southern front and launched a powerful offensive along the Red Sea coast of Yemen, trying to break through from the port of Moha to the most important port of Hodeida.

The armored fist of this offensive is again the emirate troops with Leclerc tanks, 155 mm self-propelled howitzers G6, 120 mm self-propelled mortars Agrab on the chasis of RG-31, BTR Patria AMV, etc. In principle, the terrain on the coast favore the application of heavy armored vehicles.

Yuri Lyamin on a subject of missile remains shown to public:

Quote

The Americans laid out the photo of the rocket fragments brought from Saudi Arabia to the US, launched by the Houthis at the airport of Riyadh. In general, if you believe these photos and statements from the US, the rocket was almost certainly a variant of the Iranian Qiam missile. The main material of the hull is not steel, like the original R-17 and old North Korean and Iranian copies, but aluminum alloys, it is also claimed that the rocket has no tail aero-dynamic stabilizers. On separate fragments of the components of the missile is visible the marking of the Iranian industrial groups Shahid Hemad and Shahid Bagheri, member of the Organization of the Aerospace Industry of Iran. It is assumed that the rocket was transported in parts and was assembled in Yemen, as evidenced by the presence of coarse welds in places, which contrast sharply with other seams, which were clearly done in industrial conditions.

Houthis launch missile at the royal palace in Riyadh.

The launch took place during the day, so it's clear that Burkan H2 is the Iranian Qiam. The missile lacks tail aerodynamic stabilizers - this is a very characteristic external feature of Iranian missiles, no one has ever produced such variations of Scuds. Actually, the Iranians did this in many ways so that it would be more convenient to store and launch missiles from underground missile bases.

It should be noted that the Iranian Qiam-1 has a declared range of up to 800 km., That is, to reach 1,000 km of range there should be reduced the mass of the warhead. This naturally worsens both the accuracy of the missiles and the damaging effect. Moreover, it is not a high-precision missile at its standard range, since it has only an autonomous inertial navigation system, and the detachable warhead is not maneuvering. Considering the possible errors in the missile calculation in calculating the course, errors in assembling the rocket in Yemeni conditions, etc., such single launches have a more psychological effect so far, bringing the military atmosphere to Riyadh. On the other hand, there is always the probability of a successful hit, which at once may pay for the effort.

They would be better used to hit military bases closer to Yemen and killing KSA officials or something similar.

Saudis still making sure to keep up with bombing civilians

"Yemen war: Saudi-led strikes 'kill 68 civilians in one day'"

This is fine, but those Houthis better not fire a missile back at the Saudis.

Also, I didn't know the Houthis have frogmen. They seemed to have captured a coalition AUV. The naval aspect of this war needs to be reported on more.

Summer 2017 in the Maydi area on the Red Sea coast near the border with Saudi Arabia. There the Saudis using Sudanese troops have repeatedly tried to move farther south along the coast, but the Houthis repulsed all these attempts.

Note a moment when F-15 turn on afterburners the heat signature becomes very visible on IR/thermals.

Looks like damage was not critical.
