@Alzoc, do you have any insight as to why armored vehicles are so often fighting in Yemen without visible infantry support?

Sadly no,

This conflict doesn't have a lot of media coverage, and generally speaking, I think it's even worse in France (our media already have a tendency to report very little on ongoing wars).

So almost no public information on that, other than Le Monde saying that "Hey guys, this war is pretty much forgotten here but the casualty count is pretty high, especially for civilian".

UK media silence on this subject is deafening (and thus sickening).

But defence industry shares are on the up.

It's getting bloody silly TBH.....The Russians are making similar accusations regarding the SDF/ISIS/US in Deir ez Zor, frankly based on current events I've no reason to doubt the veracity of either account.

Nauseating.

Not only that it's a crap strategy, the gains/blowback ratio is total bollocks.....Fekkin neocons/tories, utter n00bs trying to play the great game (but without even understanding the language that the rules are written in), it's bloody embarrassing to watch.

Yuri Lyamin on a subject of Houthis attack on KSA airport

Quote

The Yemeni TV channel Al-Masirah has distributed footage of the Burkan-2 missile launch at the Riyadh King Khalid airport. Saudi Arabia yesterday announced the interception of the missile over Riyadh, there are footage of the launch of anti-aircraft missiles on it (as is usual Saudi 'don't count' missiles) and smoke from the remains of the missile in the airport area.

Still, the question of the origin of the Yemeni Burkan 2 rockets is interesting .. The Riyadh Airport is located about 900 km from the nearest positions of the Houthis, and they were certainly not launched from the very front line. Moreover, the rocket very accurately flew to the target, judging by the fact that it was shot down by the airport AA defence. Although Yemen had North Korean Hwaseon-6 missiles with a range of 600 km, but to remake them with an increased firing range by one and a half times, while maintaining accuracy is, to put it mildly, a very non-trivial task.

It is clear that this is officially announced as the development of a Yemeni research center, but Yemen did not have its own missile industry and the Saudi coalition has been bombing all the facilities for 2.5 years, which it suspects associated with missiles production. Therefore, I have serious doubts that this can be done now inside Yemen even with the help of Iranian experts. Another option is that the modified version of the missiles was made in Iran, especially the head of the missile is very similar to one of the Iranian variants, but then it is interesting how they can be transported to Yemen through the blockade. Unless they imported missile by parts and assembled it back in Yemen... But this is also difficult to carry and there is a serious risk of interception.
