Is it good?

A little sluggish, but it can hit its 40khm speed limit sometimes. 8.5 second reload with BIA, vents, and rammer. 10 degrees of gun depression, 370 view range.

It certainly can do work. 20 some odd battles with it and I have an armor use efficiency of something like 1.5

And it racks in the cash. made about a million credits with it so far

Apparently WG has scrapped the new overmatch mechanics.

"Based on your input from the 1st Common Test, we decided to cancel this feature.

Initially, we planned to revise the ricochet and overmatch mechanics for all vehicles. However, tests showed that it will cause increased ricochets on thinly armored tanks (the IS-3, IS-4, etc.) that used to be generally bad at angling. This disrupted gameplay overall (a lot more ricochets where chances of them used to be zero), which you reported to us during the Common Test. We analyzed your feedback and decided to stick to the old, time-proven mechanic for all vehicles including the tier VIII–X Swedish tank destroyers."

So, turns out that changing the armour mechanics for every tank just to help out 3 new ones had game breaking unintended consequences. Who knew?

There is so much butthurt about the changes to the Strv 103. First, people complain that it's being introduced as a TD instead of a medium tank, then they complained about the overmatch mechanic change being scrapped, so it will only have enough armor to auto bounce sub-120mm guns. Now they are complaining about its ludicrous DPM and laser accuracy being brought down to more reasonable levels. So many tears, so much salt.

At no point does anyone say things like "It's too bad that high camo casemate TDs are severely gimped by the maps." Or, "This would be a really good tank if it were not for the corner brawl meta."

The problem with the old overmatch mechanic is that the Strv 103B is overmatchable to 122mm guns autoaiming the front. There's a 40 mm armour strip sticking out in front of the HEAT shield.

If it becomes a serious issue, they can buff it to 41mm, and 122mm guns won't overmatch. They could even buff it to 45mm to keep the 130mm guns from overmatching. People will bitch about ahistorical armor, but that can be said about damn near every tank on the game.

Also, 330pen HVAP please!

So, this showed up in supertest; https://thedailybounce.net/2016/11/29/german-tiger-ii-p-premium-heavy-tank-pictures-armour-stats/

(tier 7 Tiger II)

Means 1 of 3 things;

  • Historical battles are coming back
  • Wargaming wants wehraboo dollars
  • The German heavy line is going to get completely reworked with the Tiger at tier 6, Tiger II at tier 7, E75 at 8, some other shit at 9, and E100 at 10

Downtiering the German heavies makes some degree of sense, because the higher tiered ones are lolbuffed to remain competitive. Though honestly, it probably would create more problems than it solved, one of the biggest ones being the huge black cloud of unwarranted Wehraboo smug that would blot out the Sun and cause an artificial winter.
