Scale Models Megathread

Trumpeter do (or are about to do) Kondensator in 1/35:

I believe it's priced at about the £100 mark in the UK, so only about 50% more expensive than my 1/72 kit.

However you still can't have what I'm hoping to buy next month, Kondensator's older & bigger brother:

Trumpeter needs to change their logo to this:

Shame that they are the only source for a lot of Soviet subject matter.

Compared to kits I grew up with?

They aren't THAT bad.

What's annoying is how good they could be if they tried (they've done it before) and how good they should be at the price (the Trumpeter and Modelcollect 1/72 T-80s are the same price).

Agreed, current makers could really step things up , but I suspect a lot of their management is still somewhat stuck in the 1960's.

Yeah, I was shocked when I found out a ton of the very expensive Trumpeter 1/32 aircraft kits are inaccurate or hard to build or both.  Luckily Tamiya has really stepped up the game in 1/32 planes.

In awe at the size of this lad. Shame that Grigorov doesn't work in 1:35th scale, he has a ton of unique stuff.

Just for you, Kondensator's tube vs. a M48A3 hull, both in 1/72:
