No point looking at a wooden mockup of HH or the mkIV in '45, since there should be real examples available. I've seen a reference to the vickers M131 (as in 2 pages of draft specifications) of 1944, which seems to be a stretched harry hopkins (bending track, 18t, 77mm gun). I suspect this morphed into the FV300 once the designers came down off their opium high and realised that a bending track design was pushing it a bit at that weight, and it fits the timeframe for having wooden mockups available

During the modernization of the BRM, the Turra 30 combat modules were received, as well as a set of reconnaissance equipment, including the FLIR Ranger R20SS ground reconnaissance radar, an electron-optical system (presumably manufactured by the Israeli Elbit Systems), Laser Detection System Detectcie a Indikacie Oziarenia ( SDIO, is based on the Elbit Systems receivers), the Kestrel-5500 weather sensor, navigation equipment, the Micro Falcon reconnaissance mini-UAV, the Schiebel Miniature Mine Detector (MIMID) mine detection system. The machine is equipped with Harris radio communication equipment. The crew of the modernized BRM is six people.

The UTD-20 engine was not changed. Combat weight BPsVI increased to 15.29 tons, so that to maintain the ability to swim the machine is equipped with additional side floats.

With BAE Systems as a partner, their chances have increased. Still General Dynamics is lobbying big time for the Piranha 5, which would be made in Wales. They even managed to persuade Welsh MPs to talk about the advantages of the Piranha 5 (aka full production in Wales) in parliament.

So BAE competes against Rheinmetall in Australia and partners with Rheinmetall in the UK?  Got it.

In Australia Patria and BAE Systems have to cooperate, because Patria doesn't make turrets, while BAE Systems doesn't make wheeled vehicles. The UK doesn't want a turret for the MIV, so there is no need for BAE and Patria to team up. What is more interesting is the fact, that BAE competes against Rheinmetall for the Challenger 2 LEP, but cooperates in case of the MIV.

I uppose not completely true, as HMG (or AGL) system is also attached to turret roof, strange (((

Looks like it is mounted on a commander hatch system, with additional small fixator for marches/parades (under magazines).

Also note laser sensors (probably) on either side of the turret, just behind smoke grenade launchers.

A little more photos/details of Chonma-216

d7f0c0dcgy1fo97lu4ibtj21kw106kjn.jpg

Likely to be Korean Fagot or Konkurs, judging by frontal cover of ATGM tube it is very likely to be Fagot (there is a cap for wire, so ATGM is wireguided, and it is very similar to Fagot's).

Fagot_foto.jpg

This device looks like is laser sensors, but there is 2 set of optical devices in this tube. Possibly cameras?

As reported by the French company Nexter Systems (KNDS), on February 12, 2018, it received a contract from the French Defense Ministry's Direction Générale de l'Armement (DGA) for the development and production of armored vehicles VBMR Leger with a 4x4 wheel arrangement for the French armed forces .

The VBMR Leger will be developed and manufactured in five contracted versions, including patrol (armored personnel carrier), reconnaissance vehicle, communications vehicle, EW machine, ambulance. In the future, it is possible to develop several more options (commander, engineer, machine of advanced artillery observers). The beginning of deliveries in the patrol version is planned for 2022. According to the recently announced draft of the French state arms program for the period 2019-2025, by 2025 the French armed forces are expected to supply 489 VBMR Leger vehicles (an increase from the previously planned 358), and by 2030 - 978 VBMR Leger vehicles. The cost of one machine in a series of purchases should be from 500 to 700 thousand euros.

Detailed characteristics of the VBMR Leger are not disclosed yet, but the French media reported that the machine should have a full combat weight of about 15 tons, enhanced mine protection and capacity in the patrol option of 10 equipped people equipped with the FELIN system. The machine will be equipped with the SCORPION combat information system (SICS) and a remotely controlled machine gun module.

VBMR Leger will be produced at the head tank company Nexter in Roan, the contractor in the development and production of the chassis of the machine (suspension and transmission) will be the French company Texelis (Limoges).

The French army in the period from 2018 to 2031 plans to purchase 1668 armored vehicles VBMR Griffon (to replace the fleet of BTR VAB) and 248 armored cars EBRC Jaguar (to replace the cannon armored cars AMX-10RC and ERC-90S).
