Engine is Cummins ISB (6.7 liters) 385 hp with Allison-3000 automatic transmission. Protection claimed as ВR6 and ВR7 according to the European standard CEN 1063 (7.62x51 from 10 meters).

Their ERA coverage is better than on T-72B3 turret.

Didn't heard anything about that so far but maybe it has to do with the mess in Yemen that may start becoming to close for their own liking?

Better situational awareness and threat detection at best?

It's one of very few MBTs currently offered with an APS.

Good point.

Given the proliferation of ATGM in the region that's definitively a plus.

 

Though they could retrofit one on their old MBTs that would probably be costly anyway so they might as well upgrade to a modern MBT.
