Russia apparently working on a recon variant of the BMP-3.

"The R&D work is currently under way and we will soon receive a combat reconnaissance vehicle based on the BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle, which will fully meet our requirements," Deputy Chief of the Russian Army’s Main Staff for Reconnaissance Major-General Vladimir Marusin said.

The in-development armored fighting vehicle will have advanced reconnaissance equipment, which will make it different from the BMP-3.

The advanced vehicle is planned to be equipped with radars, rangefinders, thermal imaging sights and unmanned aerial vehicles."

Maybe this would also fit into the German armor topic...

Rheinmetall still plans to build the Agilis vehicle in Romania, which was developed in cooperation with the local (AFAIK state-owned) industry. They are expecting a contract worth €234 million.

Ever wondered about Monopoly's lack of tanks? Does this make the game boring? Worry no more!

The German tank museum has created a version of Monopoly with tanks. The post-it note says "approved for production"...

Topic to post photo and video of various AFV seen through a thermal camera.
I know that we won't be able to make any comparisons on the thermal signature of various tank without knowing which camera took the image and that the same areas (tracks, engine, sometimes exhaust) will always be the ones to show up but anyway:

Just to see them under a different light than usual (pardon the terrible pun^^)

      hello everyone!
so i read that the T-90 shares the T-72B turret , thus BDD armor , however this documentary (?) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKGv5JQBTI8 says "aluminums and plastics".
is this any legit? did they like , keep the t72b cavity design and change the fill?

also , did the combination on new welded towers change?

This shall be the general thread for all things soviet tanks. I shall start by posting an article I just wrote for my blog. I would recommend Archive Awarness which is an excellent blog about Soviet tanks and their experiences with other nation's tanks.
