On the inlet? It's not uncommon for fast jets to need extra inlet area during takeoff, so I think it's just for more air to the engines. Examples:

I don't think it's a suck-in door.  It looks mesh-covered.  The little doors on the Harrier are passive; if the engine needs more airflow, the pressure gradient will actually pop them open.  No need for actuators.
