Improvement of the fifth generation J-20 fighter continues in China. Engineers have created a new modification of the combat aircraft, which received improved flight characteristics.

Military expert Yuri Lyamin said that as of the end of 2019, the PRC Air Force could have up to 30 new combat aircrafts. The identification of the 18 newest fighters was made possible by their side numbers. The ninth brigade of the country's air force has six such aircraft, however, the designations on the J-20 fuselages show that there should be at least nine of them. According to available information, the new modification of the fifth generation fighter is called the J-20B.

Along with this, it is not known what engines are installed in the new product. In the event that the aircraft received WS-15 motors, the latter have a higher power and a controlled thrust vector. Russian jet engines AL-31FN were installed in the first fighters of this model, later the aircraft received Chinese-made WS-10 engines.
