   I don't know the exact answer for why these tags were used. I can guess. Until 2011, the 5th Taman Brigade was participating in parades. The crews had a lot of experience. But, in 2010, early 2011, Taman received a new modification of the T-90A tank - with the installed software and hardware complex (PTK-1) ASUtb "Sozvezdie-2". This complex was and to this day remains secret. Therefore, the tanks equipped with it were not used for event - instead of the 5th brigade, the 27th was put to work. Experience with crews of 27th in participating in such an event was not enough. On the basis of this, to control the location of the tanks, the "correctness" of the parade box, someone came up with the idea to use this transponders. I repeat, this is only my guess. So far no one has publicized the real reasons.
