   MOSCOW, December 27. / TASS /. The destruction of militants of the terrorist organization Jebhat an Nusra (banned in Russia) in Syria will end in 2018. This was announced on Wednesday by the chief of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov.
   "The military line is the completion of the destruction of the rebels Djebhat an Nusra and their allies, some of the fighters of this terrorist organization are in the zones of de-escalation," he said in an interview with the newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda, answering the question about the further development of events in Syria in the new year.
He specified that in the de-escalation zones there are many different formations and some support the regime for the cessation of hostilities. "Djebhat an-Nusra is categorically against, which means that they will have to be destroyed," Gerasimov explained.
   The chief of the General Staff also reported that the largest in the number of the formation of "Djebhat an Nusra" are in the province of Idlib. "I think that after a certain time they will be finished," the general said.
   According to him, another task that will require attention in 2018 is a political settlement. "Preparations are now under way for the Congress of the Syrian national dialogue," Gerasimov recalled.
