As reported on ItaMilRadar on Twitter.com, S102B Korpen radio reconnaissance aircraft (number 102003, call sign SVF647) of Swedish air force from May 1, 2018 makes regular reconnaissance flights from the airfield of Larnaca in Cyprus over the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea along the coast of Syria , Lebanon and Israel. On average two flights a day are made. It is noted that, undoubtedly, the main purpose of these flights is to conduct reconnaissance with regard to Russian military facilities in Syria and Russian military activities in Syria.

My opinion of Counterpunch just hit an all time low.....Feeble anti-UN hit piece, wrapped up in a festering crock of shit:

https://www.counterpunch.org/2018/05/04/syrias-new-law-number-ten-devastates-sunni-refugees/

To the victor the spoils dumbass!

You can bet your life that if it was Halliburton or The Carlyle Group benefitting from the war, rather than Bashar al Assad we wouldn't hear so much as a single bleat from this whining corporate shill.....Refugees or no bloody refugees.

And all that bullshit is merely a setup for the dig at the UN in the final paragraph:

Quote

Until then, the global community must apply economic and political pressure to the current regime in Syria to comply with international law and end the crimes against humanity that underpin Property Law Number Ten. Unfortunately, the UN Security Council has been neutered by vetoes and can do little more than remonstrate objections to what is happening to Syrian refugee’s real estate and personal property.

Franklin Lamb you truly are a wanker!  :)

PS - Having looked at a few more articles on the site, I'm wondering if this shite wasn't actually a response to Robert Fisk's piece, which must be utterly terrifying for the sort of vermin that Lamb clearly represents:

Su-30SM with both pilots, now this.

As it became known to "Kommersant", on the night of May 7, the Russian aerospace force (VCS) lost Ka-52 "Alligator" attack helicopter in Syria. According to the official version, helicopter could crashed due to a technical malfunction, unofficial - it was shot down by radical Islamists from the MANPADS during a scheduled flight. Both pilots were killed. The catastrophe was the seventh for Russian helicopters and the first for the Ka-52s involved in the Syrian campaign since March 2016.

SAA cleared last noticeable village in Syrian Badia in a still uncleared pocket where ISIS leftovers exist and sometimes do small hit and run attacks.

Things getting tenser in Israel.
On Sunday it was revealed that irregular movements of Hezbollah and Iranian forces in Syria were spotted, and it was estimated with high likelihood that they are planning to launch precision guided munitions at Israeli military targets in the north of the state.
Earlier today, shelters in northern municipalities were ordered to be opened, and reservists were called up in certain locations.

Right now there are reports of an Israeli airstrike in Syria of yet another Iranian military installation, this time the missiles that were spotted on Sunday.

Tensions have gone up after Iran announced they will retaliate for the past airstrike on the IRGC troops in the T4 base.

It seems the Pentagon confirmed that during last night's Israeli strike on 5 Syrian targets, the missiles that were destroyed on the ground were already in prepared positions and aimed, and IDF sources say they were few minutes away from firing.

Netanyahu is in Russia again now, this time also visiting the victory day parade as an honorary guest. This whole thing is... interesting.

And yet another incident now:

https://www.jpost.com/Israel-News/Shots-fired-towards-Israeli-communities-in-the-Golan-556017

Iranian forces (Quds forces of the IRGC) fired 20 rockets into Israel at 00:10, May 10th 2018. No material damage, injuries, or loss of life.

This is why Israel has been pushing towards not having Iranian presence beyond a certain point. Now it seems the road is paved to a conflict. I know who I will be blaming for this, because if the IDF and the government would actually follow their red lines, and do all they can to prevent Iranian entrenchment in the region, at least in the 20km+ near the border as they said, then not only would this not happen, but Iran would not be able to escalate anything, whether it wanted to or not. Is it too much to ask to just go to work every day, without worrying about rockets? Jeez.

There are forces on both sides that have been pushing for war between Iran and Israel/Saudi Arabia for a while now.  I've been saying that for months and months.

Yuri Lyamin about events.

On the night of 9 to 10 May, Israeli aircraft dealt multiple strikes to the positions of the Syrian army and its Iranian allies in southern Syria, in turn, they launched rockets from the MLRS on Israeli positions in the Golan Heights. Each side, as usually, states that their opponent started, but in general it does not really matter, given the tense situation there in recent times and the continuing regular Israeli strikes on Syria. In addition to the attacks on the alleged Iranian targets, the press service of the Israeli army reports of strikes on Syria's air defense positions, which seem to have been in fact one of the main goals, since there are alleged attacks on the positions of the S-75, S-200, Buk- M2E and "Pantsir-S1"

In addition, the Israeli side claims that they destroyed the Iranian Uragan MLRS, but I'll note here that Iran did not have any MLRS and there is not a single known fact of their use in Syria by Iranians. Those extremely few "Hurricanes" [Uragans] that Syria has been used by only Syrian military, judging by all the known evidence with them. By the way, it seems that the press service of the IDF also hires incopetent people, since in the video about the "Uragan" they mixed up a pile of photos of "Uragan" and "Smerch" MRLS

Data of the Russian Ministry of Defense:
MOSCOW, May 10. / TASS /. Israel during the attack on May 10 launched over 70 air and tactical missiles on Syria, Syrian air defense forces shot down more than half of them. This was reported on Thursday to journalists in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
As noted in the ministry, on May 10, from 01:45 to 03:45 Moscow time, the Armed Forces of Israel, on the pretext of responding to the shelling of Israeli positions in the Golan Heights area by armed formations, attacked Syria. "The attack involved 28 Israeli F-15s and F-16s, which fired around 60 air-to-surface missiles in various regions of Syria, as well as more than 10 tactical surface-to-surface missiles, the department informed.

According to the Defense Ministry, "the locations of the deployment of Iranian armed units, as well as the positions of the Syrian army's air defense in the region of Damascus and in the south of Syria," were attacked. " "In the course of repelling the Israeli attack by Syrian air defense, over half of the missiles were shot down," the ministry said.

The department also noted that data on the damage caused to Iranian armed forces, as well as military and civil infrastructure of Syria are being clarified.
