   Graduate of the special forces department of the Moscow Border [guard] Institute. Immediately after the university, Sergey left to serve in the North Caucasus in the special forces unit of the Border Administration of the FSB of Russia.

   Six years later, in 2012, he was enrolled in the Directorate “A” and became a sniper.

 

   Sergey Chernyshov was a mountaineering instructor, a gas rescuer, had a large number of parachute jumps. During his service, he repeatedly traveled to South Ossetia, Chechnya, Dagestan, Ingushetia, as well as the Syrian Arab Republic.

 

   He died on September 22, 2016 during a special operation in the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic. Posthumously awarded the Order of Merit to the Fatherland, IV degree, with swords.

   The Russian special forces, acting in isolation from the main forces, carry out reconnaissance in the Hamima region (east of Palmyra), establishing the location of the “blacks”. After that, to destroy the bases of the IS militants, attack helicopters of the Russian Aerospace Forces are called up and subunits of the SAR Armed Forces are sended, which complete search and destroy.

   Probably, the active participation of Russian special forces in this operation was caused by the recent terrorist attack on a joint Russian-Syrian convoy committed north of the city of Al-Sukhna. According to unconfirmed information, during the clash, 4 servicemen of the Russian Defense Ministry were injured.
