Collimatrix
The one thing that throws me about the visuals in Cuphead is that enemies flash when hit with attacks. I understand that's how old-school platformers worked, but it's such a modern, video-game visual overlay that clashes with the 1930s Merry Melodies aesthetic. Collimatrix
I started playing Planescape:Torment. It's very impressive for an eighteen year old game, and I can see why it has such a cult following. The game definitely feels like it was written by people who wanted to screw with seasoned computer RPG players. Everyone knows that once you get out of the starting area you get to the main hub and you start hitting up the locals for fetch quests and helping citizens in distress, right? Wrong. You're in a wizard slum. The quest where you agree to deliver a box to someone is a trap. The box is cursed. If it's ever opened a demon will come out and murder you. The only way to get rid of the curse is to trick someone else into willingly taking ownership of the box. Like you did because you thought it was a standard item delivery quest. And that "damsel in distress" who claims that she needs you to save her from bandits? She's just leading you into a back alley for thugs to murder you.
