Lord_James
So basically, Saudi Arabia payed $450 billion USD to get away with killing that reporter guy... ... ... Oh, hello Hitler, I didn’t see you there! Why are you disguised as the Saudi crown prince?

Oh, hello Hitler, I didn’t see you there! Why are you disguised as the Saudi crown prince? My take is that Saudi Arabia paid a bajillion dollars to remain in the US' good graces. The Turkish government is the frenemy of the Saudi government, and they saw an opportunity to kick the Saudis down a peg by painting the Saudi government as a bunch of awful barbarians (not difficult; they are). Trump has been fucking with Turkey for the past several months too, this might have had something to do with it. Trump has already made noises about wanting an Arab NATO. Turkey doesn't want that. Hopefully he will make both countries compete for his favor, and then betray both of them and laugh evilly about it while cutting into a well-done steak covered in ketchup and swirling a diet Coke in a champagne glass. Lord_James
After doing the bare minimum of googling global winds, the fallout could possibly be transported towards the Horn of Africa, if the winds are strong enough. As appealing as it would be to glass some goat fucker’s palace, I don’t think the people of Somalia and Ethiopia deserve to be irradiated. Back to conventional munitions, then

Toxn
So there's been this sudden spate of marxist and pseudo-marxist op-eds that kind of capture something real and generally unspoken about some big phenomena, but then either fumble the insight by cramming it into the standard problems of marxist thought or wrap it up in obnoxious language that seems designed to drive away anyone who hasn't absorbed their particular and obtruse phraseology (or create gaping holes in peripheral arguments that allow any critics able to so much as read to dismiss the correct/interesting insight by its proximity to the faulty/stupid stuff). This is one on why the Saudis keep getting away with things: https://warisboring.com/theres-one-reason-america-refuses-to-hold-saudi-arabia-responsible-for-murder/

The fact of the matter is it doesn't matter that it was the KSA who did it, we would have turned a blind eye whether it was Canada or Columbia. I see the author also blames the US for Venezuela's failed communism in another article.

It actually doesn't matter that he worked in the media in any form, the only reason you even hear about it is to create mental connentions with the 'Drumph is waging war on the free press' narrative. Ramlaen
Perhaps most problematic for Khashoggi were his connections to an organization funded by Saudi Arabia’s regional nemesis, Qatar. Text messages between Khashoggi and an executive at Qatar Foundation International show that the executive, Maggie Mitchell Salem, at times shaped the columns he submitted to The Washington Post, proposing topics, drafting material and prodding him to take a harder line against the Saudi government. You could easily argue that Kashoggi was an unregistered agent representing foreign interests.
