Panem et Circenses Thread

Recommended Posts

Again, that Harry Nielson song is what makes it for that ad. Now, I'm not sure why Heinz feels the need to advertise because, it's fucking Ketchup. Who DOESN'T buy Heinz ketchup? Is there such a thing? Yeah, sure, there's Hunt's ketchup but it sucks. And there's the generic stuff for five cents less which is really just Heinz but with an off-brand name. Is there some other brand of ketchup which is cutting into the Heinz profit margin?

My best bet is people who go to the store and grap the first red bottle they see that says ketchup

advertising, espically in this case for a food, is much more about advertising an experience than the product itself, in this case the experience of seeing it on a superbowl commercial

hell i saw this add on 4chan not 2 days before i bought 2 big macs at 3 A M

now, its alot more likely that i was stoned a day before and had a big mac and remember it being really good and wanted to repeat the experience

Hasselback will always have a special place for Seahawks fans. Having him under center turned around a decade and a half of quarterback frustration for the team and the dual mistakes of drafting Rick Mirer and Dan McGwire in the early 1990s.

Russian Football's best players are American rejects. Russia probably has a good talent pool, but Football is an expensive sport to play without built-in football institutions. Hopefully the NFL can use its revenue, which is about the same as the Bahamas' GDP, to fund football overseas.

The NFL intends to have a franchise in London in 2022 so who knows what will happen then.

I guess some news happened in the NBA today. But since I've been boycotting professional basketball now for eight straight seasons, after the Seattle SuperSonics were stolen, I wouldn't know.

It is well the SuperSonics were murdered for you do not want to see what atrocities they would've commit to their uniforms.

And the Seattle Mariners are on top of the American League West after winning 8 of the last 10 games and sweeping the Oakland "Fuck Sabermetrics Up the Ass" Athletics.

*Laughs maniacally*

So yeah, since I did this for every individual major 4 North American pro league sport last year in seperate threads, and playoffs are about to end and go into championship games soon, I figured I'd just do a mini compendium thread for it, so yeah, here we are.

NFL: Denver Broncos defeat the Carolina Panthers 24-10 at Super Bowl 50.

NBA: To be determined, in Semifinals, but it's shaping up to be a rematch of last year with the Golden State Warriors vs the Cleveland Cavaliers so far. ZZZZZ (Golden state won said matchup 4-2.)

NHL: Currently in semifinals, Predictions for me are on the Pittsburgh Penguins vs the St Louis Blues in the grand finals so far. However, considering St Lous is currently 2-2 against the Western conference leader, the Dallas Stars, I'll pretty much say that whoever wins that series will probably take the Stanley cup this year.

MLB. This one is pretty far off, will update this and the rest when the time comes, but, not the Seattle Mariners. (Yeah, THAT'S RIGHT DONWARD!)

So yeah, this is indeed a thread.

Would've much preferred the Bulls not hard choking against the Cavs this year, but this will do nicely for now I guess!
