There's something about an - essentially - unbroken line of development stretching back 60 years that just makes me a bit sentimental. Sure, they never have been the highest performance fighters in the world, but maybe that's why the family has lasted so long. From the first proposal of the N-102 in 1953, to the Growler, this is the Northrop jet fighter family appreciation thread:

Ukrainian armor - Oplot-M, T-64M Bulat and other.

We in America have no way of disproving the idea that Russian media is full of shit, which means it's likely full of shit. What's obvious is that without a doubt the Ukrainian media is full of about an order of magnitude more shit. -
In the hundreds wouldn't surprise me, actually, though an entire unit using them would be strange. I guess what I'm saying is that given their lack of access to weapons that look more the part, the M14 was a reasonable choice.

I got the original point, but I think you're missing the user influence side of things. A soldier may want the biggest baddest rifle he can get, regardless of how it impacts his effectiveness. Ditto a tanker and his tank.
-
Actually, IIRC, there was documented use of captured M14s by the VC.

Don't be absurd, I know full well that in your cinema the bad guys used bizarrely modified StG-44s!

The bayonet is an excellent force multiplier. It multiplies the force of shooting by the force of stabbing.

What, you don't get your internet drama news from a bunch of neckbeards whose sole purpose in life is to loathe another group of neckbeards who edit another, more respectable wiki... Actually, when I say it like that, your reaction makes perfect sense. -
Which is probably how it should be. Hell, I think even the NRA would agree, if you got enough Scotch into 'em.

Doublepost for great justice. I respect that gentleman's outside view, but frankly, he doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about. The NRA is not a tremendously evil organization, it's a middling-level nonprofit. It suffers a lot of the same corruption nonprofits do. You have been lied to, rest of the world, by people like Bloomberg who frankly are much, much more corrupt than the NRA could ever hope to be. But changing your mind is hard; nobody knows that as well as I do, so I don't really expect to change anyone's minds with a simple statement like that.

Annoying Voiceover Wonders "Why Do Boobies?"

1. SI has been doing the swimsuit issue long before the Internet was invented. I'm not saying magazines aren't having problems now that the Internet has basically obsolesced them, but wondering why, within that larger scope, do titty rags exist is pretty banal and stupid. 2. No, the word you're looking for is "Nazis". SJWs are very, very well defined. Be glad you don't know of them. 3. Yep. -
I took a lot of flak for those articles (the SA one, the one on French police, and the one on a teacher charged with gun theft). People decried them as the inevitable fall of TFB from grace, yadda ya. Chill brahs, I got this. Anyway, the thing lots of people don't understand is that the shooting sports - quite contrary to gangster activities - require patience, calm, and unbreakable focus even when things are literally exploding next to you. The further away novices take it away from that paradigm, the shadier it gets. Advanced shooters can have all the fun they want blowing up tannerite or shooting Miniguns or whatever, but that's not appropriate for novice shooters. You have to learn the essence of the shooting sports first.

Right, but pay attention to the title of the segment: It's crude way of saying "how could this possibly still exist?" Really? Are they so blindly self-absorbed that they are wondering about how a titty magazine could possibly still exist? That's like Ahmedinejad saying there are no gays in Iran. Just for some context, let's look at the titles of some of their other "How Is This Still A Thing?" segments: Miss America Ayn Rand The Washington Redskins Dressing Up As Other Races Columbus Day It's like I'm looking down the block list of a Tumblr blogger. -

No? I'm so confused, are you saying a magazine that combines tits and sports isn't marketable to the general male population? Not you, but men in general, mind you. -

Toxn, that's along the lines of the criticism I figured the images would receive. I don't really know anything about the subject, but it's one that deserves more attention, I think.
