Oh please, the dog whistles are clear enough. The last four or five years it's been a continual stream of whining about how "JewNato is encircling Russia!" (yes I'm sure Montenegro and their 2000 soldiers and 2 boats are a threat to Russia), "Jews are stealing Russian children to sell to Finnish gays/cook into matzo!", "Jews are stealing railway cars!", "Euromaiden was created by the Jews because it sounds similar to how you say Jew in Ukrainian!", "Ukraine is run by miserable Jews!", and of course last year the Russian government started confiscating Jewish holy texts for "promoting religious extremism." Jews this, Jews that, it seems Tsarist-era beliefs were not eradicated after the revolution, just suppressed whenever "anti-zionism" wasn't useful for the government.

    It makes plenty of sense if you posses any sort of strategic thinking and are willing to sell out your own people to stay in power. If Assad and ISIS destroy the rebels and Kurds the world is basically forced to pick between him or ISIS. The Syrian government collaborates with ISIS to operate refineries and power plants. The Syrian air force (much like the Turks and Russians) has just happened to coincidentally bomb FSA/Kurdish positions either under attack by ISIS or right before they were attacked. The evidence is plain enough that the Syrian government is working with ISIS when it suits them. #leningrad: Syrian government supporters mock civilians in starving city with photos of food.

    Another similar "huh we just don't know why it's not working" failure was the XFV-12, designed for the Sea Control Ship. Convair also proposed a great looking light fighter for the Navy. The model 200 would have had a F100 with a F-35 style three-section rotating exhaust plus two 10k lbf lift jets (The Rolls-Royce ones on the previously mentioned aircraft had around 5k lbf) behind the cockpit, while the Model 201 would have been a conventional fighter. (The tiltwing in the back looks to be a Canadair CL-84) And apparently after General Dynamics bought up Convair they further refined it's lines into the Rafale Model 218.
