  1. uh listen kiddo... I could stand reading more bad gun comments FOR FUN.... if for some reason gun guys posted... like this.... ONCE THEY TURNED 50.
  2. A little something different. Even people I know who despise gaming videos for whatever reason love Research Indicates' LP of Jurassic Park: Trespasser. I remember one of the guys from Two Best Friends Play saying it was the only good Let's Play he'd seen (including his own videos). Link to the whole series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6A3SaRr26M&list=PL0058A651EB882B48 It has so much of what many LPs don't. He sounds like an adult, he shows of interesting (good and bad) parts, and he tends not to waste your time. It has a nice blend of entertaining and pseudo-educational. And this was in 2008, when every single other LP was full of stuttering weirdos pointing their webcams upside down at their screens while retrying the same Kaizo level for the fortieth time.
  3. The Polygon thing seems blown out of proportion, but it's aggravating that we finally got a fantastic shooter that bucked all of the trends, and this is how the reviewers were playing it. Were they going to give it lackluster reviews, resulting in less sales and less chances of similar games being released? Maybe, maybe not, but we reached a point where corridor shooters dominated the market so it didn't seem unreasonable.
  4. There's a decent video with some interesting topics, but fucking hell 3/4 of it was so stupid.
  5. To be fair, the modern Republican party would despise Ike.
  6. Depends on what you're into. I love DOOM but I wouldn't recommend it to people who wouldn't be into it. Gaming today is pretty damned good, since you can get such a massive variety of products.
  7. It's a shame the Doom multiplayer is so shit. And not in a "rushed" way. It's just very poorly designed.
  8. There are some outlets whining and moaning about Doom, and it's pissing me off because I'm praying we don't have another few decades of darkness with corridor shooters.
  9. Yeah, Bernie supporters seem to be the "new to politics" crowd this time around, and they've unfortunately rolled up some nasty moss in their momentum that's really starting to make things ugly.
  10. Either way, I'm wondering how much energy everyone's going to have for the general election.
  11. To be fair, it's where most of the vitriol comes from, and I'm drawing a strawman like a terrible person. I'm mainly just annoyed at how pervasive the neo-reactionary thing has become, and how the irony of a bunch of people who spend all their free time enraged at how over-sensitive a few people are is not called on it. It's like when Tied would go on huge page-long tirades about how we're a bunch of over-sensitive pussies over some trivial disagreement with him.
  12. The SJW thing is fucking retarded, too. It doesn't even mean anything anymore because now everyone who doesn't post "N*****" or "Faggot" (I don't know policy on the former, but I see the latter on here plenty) on 4chan ten times a day is an SJW who needs to be targeted like the rest. A few female Goons have been getting harassed on their video game channels lately despite saying literally nothing political on their channels or social media because they are "SJWs."
  13. It's just that I've pretty much stopped participating in social media and even browsing imgur to look at a funny picture on the toilet, because so much of it is latching on to the anti-SJW train. Circle-jerks are bad enough as it is, but when it's in my face and these people, though they are the 98% majority believe that they are a minority under assault. I guess it's just a shortcut for some people to feel tough and validated that to be celebrated on the internet, you only need to be ideologically opposed to something.
  14. I wasn't aware that there was any vitriol towards the groups until recently. I guess people heard the term "safe space" and thought that it was a bunch of people that weren't listening to the politically incorrect wisdom of George Carlin wannabes.
  15. Alright, what is the over-sensitive response to safe spaces about? I thought this would be something really inoffensive, but after talking with Nate recently, apparently the over-reactionary internet tough guy crowd are harassing these groups with bomb and death threats because they have the gall to help domestic abuse victims find shelters and legal help or soldiers/civs with PTSD affordable care
  16. One thing that's really chafed me about PC games lately is laggy menus. Like, you click something, and the button feels mushy, and the next part of the menu lags a bit (Think something like Armored Warfare). It drove me nuts with R6: Siege until they just recently fixed it so that the menu is quick and smooth, and it's just made it that much more apparent with other games.
  17. That, and I think the "tangible future" setting turns people off. Covering everything in clean white plastic panels is horribly limiting in visual style, and you could probably line up a bunch of media that use that style and have a harder time telling them apart than WW2 games. It's not hopeless, because media like the Aliens franchise know how to throw in something relatable to give interesting visual flair.
  18. Got a few hours of DOOM under my belt, and it's really fun so far. I'm playing it on Ultra-Violence, and though it's kicking my ass, I'm actually quite enjoying it.
  19. I guess I also have to be the guy who says it: Call of Duty looks like shit today. And that's not just a knock on graphical performance. You can make a presentable game with the proper art design and direction if you have a poor engine. Hell, I think the original Metroid Prime still looks good held up to other games of today. Call of Duty doesn't need to achieve parity with Battlefield. Unfortunately, they have neither graphical power nor good art direction, and the current CoDs lack any sort of interesting visuals, with only minor jumps between games so that it's becoming difficult to differentiate them.
  20. I don't normally rage, but the Overwatch beta got me there. Pubbies always run straight up the main road, and never look behind themselves.
  21. A well-polished game can be fun, but publishers need to let developers try things. The New Order was fun as all hell, but I can't think of more than 2 or 3 publishers that would have let the game release as it did.
  22. Interesting. I've been propagated by militias twice: Once while volunteering at the museum, and another time at a gun shop. Both times it was by the "keep talking and maybe something will click" types. The former pulled out his carry pistol to ask questions about it (It was a '60s-era 1911 if I remember right), and I couldn't drop enough hints to him to stop pointing it in the direction of my groin. PA State Police have been busting militias left and right so I kept the conversations as quick and impersonal as possible. There was a Sovcit sheriff in a town near Centralia who wanted to utilize local militias to take down terrorist groups (redundancy lol). After harassing the townspeople with weapons and posting videos threatening John Kerry and Barack Obama, he was forcibly removed from office. There were literal Nazis playing "security" to intervene. I can understand "George's" situation, though. I don't see the point in bugging some old guy who hasn't done anything illegal.
  23. Maybe? The CoD series hasn't outsold Modern Warfare 3 since it was release in 2011, I'm guessing mostly due to stagnation. I feel like it's mostly due to the game being such a massive joke. It really seems that they're trying to use the setting for sales, and people just aren't receptive, because we probably know it'll be this year's campaign gimmick and it might add a jetpack that can give you a booster for 1.1 seconds before recharging in multiplayer, which I feel has to bottom out at some point. Since Activision are a bunch of thieves and refuse to lower the prices of the series on Steam, I got a cheap pack of them from a hook-up on G2A, and was surprised to see that I could still get multiplayer matches in some of the older games. I think the biggest proble with the series is that it's releasing way too often and the multiplayer is losing its edge. The Goons on SA haven't really fooled themselves, and they all admit to buying the new game each year just to keep up with their normal groups, and it's hard to keep up with that after 7+ years when there are different choices for multiplayer games, especially on PC.
  24. I think there are a lot of reasons, and quite a bit of it is just outside-fanbase hatred of the series. Add in series stagnation and just how bad the series fucked up gaming for almost a decade. Also, I do think that there's an underestimation of just how un-appealing the "tangible future" sort of sci-fi setting is. I am insanely cautious about the new Battlefield, but I have to admit that a game preview hasn't caught my attention and speculation this hard since I was a teenager.
  25. Self-appointed "reporter" for Sovereign Citizen activity who was also present at Malheur arrested for illegal weapons charges. He's charged with possession of a stolen Browning M2 with a filed-off serial number. He's been in trouble with the law for explosives charges, and according to his testimony, he has made a large amount of illegal weapons for various unsavory people. http://www.oregonlive.com/oregon-standoff/2016/05/militia-tied_embedded_reporter.html http://www.oregonlive.com/oregon-standoff/2016/05/oregon_occupation_reporter_has.html http://www.flashalertnewswire.net/images/news/2016-05/3585/94250/Emry_Michael_-_Arrest_Warrant__and__Complaint_-_May_6_2016.pdf
